No Matter What

On July 1, 2015 I was asked a question, that at the time I didn't realize, would change my life.

I met my boyfriend when I was a freshman and he was a senior in high school. Slowly we became friends, then soon a couple.

We both had planned for him to go to college, like he had told me he had planned to do. On July 1, 2015 he asked me a question; "What would you do if I went into the army?"

Some girls dream of a prince, or a knight in shining armor, but I always wanted a man in uniform. Did I ever expect that's what I would get my first time falling in love, no way.

My answer was the best response I could think of in seconds. "I still would love and support you."

My best friend was going on to do what only 2% of America's population chooses as a career.

August 10, 2015 he moved out for BCT. One of the hardest "See ya later's" given. 9 weeks without him. 9 weeks with rarely any communication. 9 weeks without a kiss.

The first day was of course the hardest. I felt like this would last forever.

The truth is, I don't know where he will be next or when he will be home. I'm not sure about a lot of things that could happen to him or us, but one thing I'm sure of is that I will love and support him no matter what.

The time seperated does make the time together worth it.
