Xander's POV

Ellie and I lay sprawled across the couch in her living room. We were, of course, watching Twilight. After everything that happened to her it was the least I could do. Even though I completely hated that movie to my core. Vampires did not sparkle for crying out loud!

She cuddled closer to me, and I moved the blanket over her so she would stay warm. I nuzzled my head in the crook of her neck, taking in her wonderful scent.

I am probably happier that she didn't become a vampire than she is. I honestly have no idea how that is even possible. Normally when one is injected with vampire's blood, their venom, they become a vampire when they die. But Elizabeth was still human.

Of course I am glad she didn't become a vampire, but it just left us with even more questions. Maybe I would ask her mother. She seemed to know a lot about that kind of stuff since she dated a vampire once. God just thinking about that makes me want to vomit. Michael is one asshat.

"Hey Ellie I'm hungry," I stated with my head still buried between her shoulder and neck.

"Well we have leftover pizza in the fridge," Ellie replied laying her head on mine.

"But I don't want pizza," I stated licking her soft skin. She shrieked, and jumped falling on the floor.

"Xander! What–" Before she could finish I brought my lips onto hers, silencing the words in her throat.

"I was kidding."

Ellie made a little pouty face as she moved towards the other side of the couch.

"Aww sweetheart you aren't mad at me now, are you?"

Ellie ignored me focusing her eyes on the screen. I moved closer attempting to kiss her. She dodged my movement, so I placed my hand under her jawline. I traced it with my finger and watched as she looked into my eyes.
Before she could move I quickly kissed her. Instead of ignoring me again she kissed back. This was followed by a session of passionate kisses, until Ellie's mom came through the front door, which happened to be conveniently placed in the living room.

Her blank expression turned into a smirk. Oh dear what is she thinking? Of course she was thinking that. . .

"You two weren't thinking about getting kinky, were you?"

Both of our faces turned as red as tomatoes, as Ellie's whined, and buried her face in a pillow.

"No we weren't."

I couldn't help but smirk at the idea, but I'd never dream of taking advantage of Ellie so her mother has nothing to worry about, for now.

"But I do have a question for you?" Ellie slowly removed her head from under the pillow and looked towards me.

"Would it be possible to have someone given vampire venom stay human even after death."

Ellie glared at me. I knew she didn't want her mom to know, but it was important.

"So we are speaking about Ellie?" She asked.

Ellie's head quickly turned to her mother, and her face was written with confusion.

"W-what do you mean?" Ellie choked out.

"Your ring, the sapphire one. It was once your great grandmothers, so I gave it to Xander to give to you. Though I don't know how, the ring has resurrection capabilities. Anyways, is there something you two aren't telling me?"

"Nope! Nothing!" Ellie yelled turning back towards the TV.

Ellie's mother looked me in the eye and her thoughts rang towards me.

'Keep her safe, no matter what, even if it means turning her. Just promise me she agrees.'

I nodded my head and she smiled walking off down the hallway.

I'm pretty sure Ellie saw this exchange between her mom and I, but she pretended not to notice. I kissed her head as we continued watching the torturous movie.

No matter what I would protect Ellie. I would keep my promise. After all where would she be without her amazing vampire boyfriend?
