Right now is dinnertime and Mum made Jack and I's favourite dinner ever. Homemade Spaghetti Bolognese! We love it! Mum calls Jack and I down to set the table. Even though I'm really sick, I hate people doing things for me. At home and school, I act like a normal cancer free person. "The table's ready Mum" I say as I walk into our huge kitchen.

"Thanks Lou" Mum chirps. She try's to be really happy around me even though me having cancer is killing her faster than me. I hear her talking and crying to dad about it at least once a week. "Lou! Lou! Come sit next to me!" Jack screams from one end of the house to the other.

"Okay Jacky! I'll be there in a tick!" I scream back. I instantly feel out of breath and fainty.

"Lucy Maria Parker! Don't scream otherwise you'll faint!" My mum says sternly.

"Sorry mum" She's always stern about me screaming, but I know its for the best.

I walk to the dinner table and sit next to Jack. We are given our dinner and eat like pigs. What can we say, we LOVE spag bol! After dinner I get ready for bed, but before I go to sleep, I walk across the hall to Jack's room.

"Jacky? Can I come in?" I ask

"Sure Lou" Jack chirps

"I want to thank you in advanced for the surgery tomorrow. To show how much I love you, I want to give you something that Nanna gave me when she died." I pulled out a beautiful opal from my pocket, "She told me to keep to stay strong. So that's what I want you to do"

"Thanks Lou, I love you so much sis!" Jack says while hugging me. I feel something wet on my shoulder and realise that Jack is crying. "Jack why are crying?" I ask

"I'm scared for tomorrow!" Jack cries

"Don't worry about it everything will be okay"

"Okay. Goodnight Lou"

"Goodnight Jacky" I say and walk back to bed.
