Alexander looked at his feet while he walked. He kept wondering about Timothy's house. What was he so nervous about? When the two boys reached Timothy's house Timothy stopped at the door before opening it.  "Don't take anything he says to heart. ok?" Alexander just nodded and gave a confused look. Timothy opened the red door and stepped in. "Timothy? Why is your sorry self at my house?" Timothy's father bellowed. He came around the corner and stopped. He looked Alexander up and down and then turned to Timothy. "What did I tell you about having friends over boy?" Timothy just pushed past him, knowing he'd pay for it later. "I'm just grabbing my phone real quick sir." Alexander heard Timothy call from somewhere in the house.  Alexander observed the man in front of him. He was a very strong looking man. He had very long hair and reeked of beer. "Who are you, boy? His boyfriend?" Alexander felt his face get hot. He looked down at his feet and shook his head. Timothy called for Alexander to come help him look for his phone. Alexander walked past the drunk and made his way towards Timothy. As Alexander walked past the family room, he saw in horror at least thirty beer cans and bottles scattered across the floor and on the couch. Timothy emerged from his room. " I wish you didn't have to see that. Come on" Alexander stepped into Timothy's room and gasped. Timothy's walls were lined with scripts and books. "It's like a library." Alexander gawked. Timothy nodded and said, "yeah your telling me. I love to read. Oh there it is." Timothy walked over to his dresser and picked up the now found phone. Timothy looked at Alexander still in awe about his room. "Green, blue, and purple." Timothy stated.

Alexander snapped out of his trance. "What?"
Timothy laughed, " My room. Its green, blue and purple." Alexander blinked,"Thank you." From the other side of the house they heard Timothy's father yell, "You boys have five minutes to get out of my house." Timothy lead the way out and before they could walk out the door, Timothy's dad shoved Timothy against the wall. "Next time you disobey me I'll change the locks when you leave for school." "Yes sir" Timothy gulped.  When the boys left Timothy was the first to break the silence. "Did he say anything to you?" Alexander looked up at the sky. " No, he just asked if you were my boyfriend." Timothy laughed. But not his usual cheerful laugh. He sounded almost disgusted. Alexander felt his heart sink. But why?

When the boys got to Alexander's house they only had ten minutes before Shaun was supposed to pick them up. Timothy helped Alexander pick out what he should wear to a party which ended up being a bright blue hoodie and black jeans. But to Alexander it looked like a gray hoodie. Timothy put on a green hoodie and black jeans which to Alexander looked like a dark grey shirt. They heard the honk of Shaun's van and went outside. "Hey guys!" Shaun greeted. Timothy flashed a smile and opened the door to the van. Inside was Emma and Mandy. "Come on guys! I wanna get there before all the good booze runs out." Emma squealed. Alexander and Timothy got in the van and shut the door. "So Alexander, we need a place to crash tonight because I can't take the girls home drunk. Do you have any idea where we can stay?' Shaun asked, keeping his eyes on the road. "sure, I have plenty of room at my house. I have two guest rooms, Mandy and Emma can share a room and Me and Timothy will share my room so you can have your own room." Alexander explained. Shaun laughed, "Thanks buddy. However I don't plan on being alone tonight if you know what I mean." He nudged. Emma pretended to throw up, "Ew Shaun. No one needed to know that. Besides you wont find anyone."  The group finally arrived to the huge house. You could here the music from two blocks up the street. People were everywhere. Shaun looked at the group. "Okay so we meet back here at two a.m. got it?" Everyone nodded. The girls went one way and Shaun went to the food. Timothy and Alexander walked into the  kitchen, where they small talked for a while. Suddenly a girl walked up to Timothy. "um hi" the girl said nervously. Timothy looked at Alexander then back at the girl. "Uh hi? Do I know you?" The girl looked down at her feet. "Uh kind of, I sit behind you in biology class." Alexander nodded and then brightened. "Oh right, Lexi Dorame!"  The girl gave a big toothy smile. "Right that's me! Anyway I have a question." Knowing what she was going to ask created a pain in Alexander chest. He didn't know why though. Alexander wondered out of the kitchen and into the family room that was basically the heart of the party. A very tall girl came up to Alexander and offered him a drink. Alexander accepted the solo cup that had LEMONADE written in large letters with sharpie. Knowing that he was holding alcohol. Out of the corner of his eye, Alexander saw Mandy sitting on the couch staring into her cup. Alexander made his way over to her and sat down beside her. "Hey, whats wrong?" Alexander asked. Mandy started crying. "This girl is making fun of me. Their saying I'm a lesbian." Alexander was taken aback.  Alexander tried to help. "Why does that upset you?" Mandy looked up at Alexander as tears rolled down her face. And then she sobbed,

"Because I am."

The last time Timothy saw Alexander, Alex walked out of the room before Lexi Dorame could ask Timothy out.  Timothy went looking for Alexander then spotted him on the couch with Mandy.

"Your a lesbian?" Alexander asked surprised and took a sip of his drink. He gagged at the taste. Mandy let out a small "yes". Alexander nodded and threw his head back and took a huge swig of his drink.  "Yes, and well, I'm in love with Emma." Mandy stated. Alexander spit his mouth full of alcohol back out into the cup. I'll be right back." He got up and three his cup away then got a cup off another table. The guy who made it stopped him, "hey buddy that's some strong stuff are you sure you want it? "
Alexander gave a weak smile "I need it."
He downed the drink feeling it burn his throat and say sat back down with Mandy.
"If its the truth then don't hide from it. There is no shame in liking women. A lot of men like women" Alexander yelled over the music. The booze was kicking in . Mandy laughed and wiped away her tears. "Do you like girls Alexander?" Mandy asked. Alexander looked around. "Naaaaahhh not really." he said slurred.  Mandy smiled, "Don't worry. Its okay to like men. Lots of females do." She winked. "Im going to tell Emma I love her. While she's drunk and she wont remember." Mandy nudged Alexander and hugged him. "Thanks Alexander. Don't get too messed up." Mandy whispered and then got up to go find Emma.

Timothy spotted Alexander and walked over to him. "Hey, sorry about that back there." Alexander shrugged and put his hands up. "This party is craaazy" Alexander wooped.
The two boys watched Shaun talk to a girl. For once she actually seemed interested in him. " Shes a blonde and she has blue eyes." Timothy told Alexander. Alexander responded "Yeah, well doesn't matter she's not sticking around!" Timothy looked over at Alexander laughing at how drunk he was. "Hey Alex?" Timothy asked. Alexander looked over at Timothy, "YES" Alexander yelled. "Out of curiosity" Timothy asked, " What were you and mandy talking about?" Alexander looked into his cup while he spoke. "She told me she was a LESBIAN." Alexander exclaimed. Timothy laughed, "Finally. she's kept that a secret forever." Alexander let out a laugh. "Hey Timothy? can I ask you a question?" Timothy Flashed another smile, "Yeah buddy?"

"Do you like girls?"
