Nicolette White-Charming

"Got everything?" mom yelled, before I closed the door behind her.
"Yes mom, for the last time, I have everything", I laughed. My mom, the famous Queen of ever after, the fairest of them all, Apple White, smiled and hugged her daughter one last time before she would get sent to Ever After High, the school she went to before she became what she was today.
"Hey, where's Dad?" I asked, setting her stuff down.
"You there, the guy driving the carriage, can you please put my daughter's stuff in the carriage?" Her mom asked.
"Yes, your highness", a tiny hunched man said in a squeaky voice.
"It's okay mom, I can do it", I insisted.
"You are a princess Nicky. People do things for you", her mom smiled. I bent down until she could she the man's tiny, wrinkled face. "It's okay. I'll get it from here", I said, handing him a twenty dollar bill.
The man said in a very quick whisper, "God bless your heart, your highness", and walked away.
I stood up and brushed some dust off her leggings.
"Nicky! Don't leave without saying goodbye!" My dad, Luke Charming said, chuckling. Luke Charming is Daring, Dexter, and Darling's older cousin. Apple and Luke met when Daring was taking Apple to visit his family. They were together back then by the way.
Apple saw Luke sitting alone, reading a book, and they started talking from there. Apple realized that Daring wasn't the right one, and she broke up with him. He was heartbroken, and ended up marrying Cerise Hood afterwards.
"Daddy!" I cried, coming up to him.
Dad gave me huge bear hugs. He knelt down beside me, mom's hands on his shoulder.
"Be a good girl, and show everyone that you are the next Queen of Ever After, our future ruler. Nicolette White-Charming", He smiled.
I frowned. But what if she didn't want to be the next Queen of Ever After?
"Well, the carriage is about to leave. I better go. Like now", I cried.
I went outside and got inside the royal family carriage.
"Bye, sweetie!" Her mom waved.
"Bye!" Her dad yelled.
"Bye mom, bye dad", I screamed, until our castle was out of sight.
"Are you excited or nervous?" her butler, Matthew asked.
"I'm okay", I nodded, twirling a strand of blonde hair on her finger.
Matthew raised his eyebrow.
I sighed. "Okay fine! I'm a nervous wreck Matthew! What if no one likes me? What if I screw up and I end up being hated by everyone? What if I don't want to sign the storybook of legends? Will people still like me? What do I say to Estelle? I haven't seen her in forever! What's her destiny? Do people expect me to be with a prince? I don't want to be a queen I want to be like Aunt Darling! What if I..What if—"
"Woaaaah!" Matthew said, holding his hands out in front of him.
"Calm down, your highness. I didn't mean to make you more frightened", He laughed.
I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
"You're right. None of those things will happen. Everyone adores me! I'm Apple White's daughter!" I beamed.
"Here we are!" the driver said.
Matthew opened the door, and held out his hand for me.
I stepped out of the carriage, and all of sudden, everyone surround me, chanting my name and holding up signs that said: Nicolette White-Charming! or NEXT QUEEN IS A CHARMING! or NICOLETTE IS SURE TO BE A CHARM!
I smiled from eye to eye and fluffed my hair. "Everyone! Please, make way for the highness, miss white-charming", Headmaster Grimm said, fighting his way toward the crowd.
I glanced up and down the crowd to see if I could see any first year students. I saw the wonderlandians in the far back, talking. And on the other side, were the mischievous, hated never landers. I spotted a familiar face in the crowd and I almost screamed when I saw her.
"Estelle! Estelle, over here", I yelled.
Estelle turned her head and waved. She was talking to Lain Wonderland.
"Excuse me, pardon me. Excuse me, pardon", I said, until I reached my way through the crowd.
"Estelle! Hey!" I smiled.
"Hiii...Nicolette", Estelle said slowly.
"Oh. I'm going to leave now," Lain Wonderland said, and bumped my shoulder when he left.
I gasped. "Oh my! How rude. I'm going to go give him a piece of my mind!" I said, and furrowed my eyebrows.
Estelle grabbed my arm. "Just leave it at that."
Estelle is my cousin, since her mom, Raven Queen, married my uncle, Dexter Charming. We're basically besties. Even if Estelle can be such a weirdo sometimes.
"Alright students, please make your way into the building. You should have your room and locker information inside your mirror phone/mirror pad", the PA system announced.
"Nicolette!" I heard someone say.
I saw Rosella come up to me, with birds perched on her fingers. She sang a few notes before the birds flew away.
"Hey, bestie!" I said, and hugged her. Rosella hugged me back.
"Yo, yo, yo, whaddup ever after?!" Genevieve Beauty yelled at the top of her lungs. I tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hey, hey, hey", she smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back.
Everyone cheered.
"Who's ready to partay?" She yelled.
I cheered, along with Rosella.
"I'm holding a Book-To-School Page Ripping Party tonight at 8! Everyone's invited", Genevieve smiled.
"Whoo!" I yelled.
Rosella and I giggled.
I saw Lain rush past me, without even giving me a second glance.
"Excuse me, Ro, I'll be right back", I said, and followed Lain.
I grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around.
All those intense workouts with Uncle Daring definitely paid off. Even though mom didn't want me doing them. They were "un-princess" like.
"Woah! Get your hands off of me!" Lain snapped.
"What's your problem, Lain? Why are you being such a—"
"Leave him alone!" Cassy Charming said, pulling him towards their Wonderlandian Squad.
"Cass! Why are you hanging out with them?" I asked.
"We're right here!" Crystal yelled.
"I'm a Wonderlandian too ya know!" Cassy snapped.
"You'd rather stick up for a friend than your own cousin?" I asked.
"Nicolette, we can talk about this later", She whispered.
"No. Now", I said, stamping my foot.
"Quite bratty for a princess, eh?" Justin said, disappearing and reappearing by Cassy's side.
My bottom lip quivered.
"I'm not bratty! If...If this is about my mom closing off all the portals to wonderland, you should be mad at her not me, because I had nothing to do with stupid old Wonderland anyway!" I said.
They all gasped.
"Nicolette Jada White-Charming! How could you?" Cassy said, in surprise.
"I'm so sorry! That came out wrong I—"
"Let's go guys", Lain said, looking at the ground.
Crystal took out a tea cup and poured some tea, some of the tea pouring on the floor, since the cup had a hole inside.
She came up to me and handed me the cup.
"Enjoy your tea", She glared, and walked away.
Cassy looked at me one more time before shaking her head and joining her friends.
"Guys, wait! I'm so sorry", I yelled back.
I screwed up major time. I'm supposed to be liked by everyone, not hated.
I stared at the empty tea cup I was holding and held it close to my chest.
"There you are! Where were you?" Rosella asked.
"Just had to do something. So who are you rooming with?" I asked.
"Genevieve. What about you?"
"I don't know. I have to find out. Hey, I'll see you later at the party, okay?" I said.
She nodded and caught up with Juliette Bell.
I took the elevator to the second floor, where all the girl dormitories were.
I opened the door to mine, and found someone already there.
Someone with short blonde hair and brown highlights.
Ah great.
Meredith sat on her side of the room, her red baseball cap on her head, her headphones on, bopping to the beat. I set my stuff down and went over to Meredith. I took her headphones off and smiled at her.
She frowned.
"What're you doing here?"
"Thank you, Meredith, for the warm welcome", I said, and rolled my eyes.
"I'm rooming with Juliette this year", Meredith said, sitting up in bed.
"That's not what my sheet said", I replied.
She snatched the sheet from my hand and read it.
"What?"
"I was just as surprised as you", I said, nodding.
"This is preposterous! I'm going to talk to the headmaster about this", Meredith said.
"You go do that. I'm going to go find a dress for the party tonight."
"Whatever major loser. See ya later", she said and slammed the door.
What's her problem? What did I ever do to her? It's always been like this since the time we were first introduced to each other.
Mom said that she brought me close to Meredith and Meredith took her bottle and squirted me in the face.
Mom got really mad at Aunt Cerise, but they're still friends.
I don't know why she hates me. Three of my cousins go to this school and so far, two already hate me, one, for no reason.
I dig through my stuff until I can find some of my last year's dresses. I don't think they even fit me anymore.
I grab my mirror phone from my bed and dial Genevieve's number.
She picks up on the last ring. Soooo her.
"You have one second to state what you wanna say", She said.
"What?" I exclaimed, surprised by her sudden change of behavior.
"Oh", she sighed exasperatedly. "Oh good, it's you, Nicolette. Hi", She said.
There was some noise in the background.
"What's up?" I asked.
"All the people in school are calling me to RSVP and I don't even know half of them! Some of them aren't even in Ever After!" She cried.
I laughed. "So want to go shopping for dresses for the party?"
Gen sighed into the phone. "Yasss. I so need the vaca. I can meet you outside the front doors of the school in 10 okay?"
"Sure. Bye", I said.
"Bye", she replied and hung up,
There was a knock at the door.
I got up to get it.
Meredith pushed past me and sat on her bed, angrily.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Headmaster said it's too late to switch roommates. There was a glitch in the computer and about half of us got mismatched", she growled.
"Well, I'm sorry that you're stuck with me", I said, widening my eyes.
"So am I", Meredith sighed.
I put on my converse and grabbed my mirror phone, heading out the door.
"Hey, Nicolette?" Meredith called.
"Yeah?" I replied, turning around.
"I hate—"
I opened the door and slammed it shut before she could finish her sentence.
"YOU!" She yelled faintly.
I met up with Genevieve at the front doors like instructed, when the Neverlandians came up to us.
"Oh great. What do they want?" She said, whispering into my ear.
"Hello, Nicolette. Genevieve", Ally smirked, circling around the both of us.
Genevieve and I backed away until our backs pressed against each other.
"What do you guys want?" Genevieve asked.
Hadley stared at her nails, looking me in the eye.
"I heard you're having a party tonight at 8. Is that right, Hadley?" Ally asked.
"That's right", Chase answered.
"She was talking to me, you idiot!" Hadley said, and slapped him on the head.
"Ow!" He howled.
"We want invites", Barren said.
"No way! You guys are nothing but trouble", Genevieve said, narrowing her eyes.
"Says the girl who party's every night until 2 AM, flirting with Calvin!" Hadley teased.
"You son of a—"
"Guys, guys, calm down. Let's all take deep breaths", I said, holding Genevieve back.
She breathed heavily, getting ready to pounce.
"Hold back your tiger, will you?" Ally asked, staring like she saw a bug on the floor.
"You're not going. Not after what you just said", Genevieve snapped.
"We're going to get in. You just wait and see", Bethany smiled.
"Oh I don't have to. The authorities will be there. Try and step foot into the Castleteria. Come on, Nicolette. Let's go", Genevieve retorted.
"Sorry", I mouthed.
"Nicolette!" Genevieve yelled.
"I'm coming, Gen!" I said, hurrying up next to her.
"So why won't you invite them?" I asked.
"Did you hear what that little brat just said to me? Plus, their nothing but trouble. Nobody likes them around, but Headmaster Grimm does not tolerate discrimination. They spread horrible rumors about you that get your reputation r-u-i-n-e-d", she said, and fluffed her hair.
"C'mon, ForeverAfter21 closes at 6", Genevieve said, changing the subject.
I kept quiet the rest of the way.
Hmm. Neverlandians.
Even the name sounded as mysterious and mischievous as them.
