2: Hey Bae

"Hey, Juliette", a voice said. I looked up and saw Lain Wonderland towering over me.
"Oh hey, Lain," I said, and went right back to reading. I was getting lunch at the Castleteria.
"Anyone sitting here?" He asked, nervously.
"Yes", another voice said. Chase sat next to me and slammed his tray on the table.
"Hey bae", he said, and put his arm around me.
"Bae?" Lain said, startled.
"We're dating. Didn't she tell you", Chase said, smiling and pulling me closer to him.
I shifted around uncomfortably.
"Why are you dating a Neverlander?" Lain asked, setting his tray down.
"Because she is one", Chase said, before I could reply. I yanked his hand off of my shoulder. This isn't  right.
"No, she's a wonderlandian, because her mom is the queen of hearts", Lain explained.
"Um, no, she's a Neverlander because her dad is Peter Pan", Chase stated, and stared him in the eye.
I used to like Chase. I really did. But now ever since the never landers have done such stupid things to ruin their own reputation, I haven't trusted Chase since. I'm always forced to pick which group. How can I? Neverland and Wonderland are both my homes.
I usually switch back and forth, but it gets tiring after a while. I don't even know the future of my destiny. I haven't worried until now, thinking it was still years away. And now that I've been letting those precious years pass by, it's time to decide.
Lain puts his hand on my shoulder, and I look up and smile tiredly.
"Get your disgusting wonderland hands off of her!" Chase exclaimed, standing up.
"You don't own her!" Lain said, getting read to defend herself.
I pulled Chase back, with all my strength, away from Lain. I wouldn't let him hurt my best friend.
"Chase, now you listen to me, you stop this right now. Do you see yourself?" I whispered to him, staring into his rich eyes.
There was silence, and I didn't wait for him to answer.
"You're embarrassing yourself! This is over, Chase", I whispered, sliding my hand across my neck.
He stumbled to get words out of his mouth.
"You're a disgrace to Neverland. You all are", I said, before leaving.
He grabbed me before I could even turn on my heel.
Chase reeled me in, and before I could protest I felt something soft and plump on my lips. I tried to struggle out of it, but his muscular arms were no match for mine.
I finally got the strength to break out of the kiss and slapped him.
"Don't touch me. Ever again", I screamed and ran away. I knew everyone was staring at me, but I didn't care. This wasn't right. I'm not going to have my reputation ruined because of their stupid actions. But that doesn't mean I choose Wonderland over Neverland.
I bumped into someone and we both went falling to the floor.
I groaned and looked up.
"Oh My Godfairy, Juliette, I am so sorry", Estelle said, offering me hand.
"It's okay", I said, shaking my head.
"What's going on? I heard you screaming in the Castleteria", Estelle said, taking a deep breath.
"I broke up with Chase", I sighed, my head in my hands.
Estelle patted my back.
"You did the right thing."
"Really?"
"Yeah! I could tell you were uncomfortable the first time he even asked you out."
"Thank god. Someone understands. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now."
Estelle said before leaving, "It doesn't matter what other people think. You do what your heart wants. Remember, the end is only the beginning."
I stared at her, wondering what she could mean.
Someone grabbed my shoulder and spun me around.
I was face-to-face with Ally and Hadley.
"What were you thinking in there?" Ally snapped.
"Yeah!" Hadley said.
"Did you really choose Lain over your best friend?" Ally asked.
"Chase is not my friend. We were never friends. I was confused when I went out with him. And this isn't about Lain. It's about what I want, Ally", I retorted.
"Go back in there and apologize. You're and Never lander, and you have to be proud!" Ally pushed.
"No", I said, and stared her down.
"Excuse me?"
"I said no. First of all, who are you tell me to go back in there to apologize to Chase? This is my life and I can decide what I want or don't want. Don't worry about me or what I do. Second of all, you're making all the Neverlanders back home awfully proud by spreading vicious rumors about people and bullying them until their heart dies out", I said sarcastically.
"And don't event think about asking me to sneak you into the party tonight. Because you just ruined your chance. Again", I said.
I turned around and left them, rolling my eyes.
Were they even true friends?
"Juliette, there you are, I've been looking all over for you", Hazel said, coming over to me.
She linked her arm through mine.
"The squad and I are going to set up the Castleteria for the party. You coming?" She asked.
"I'll come later. I have things to do", I said.
"Oh okay. See you than", she replied, before leaving.
"Juliette! Just the person I was looking for", Nicolette White-Charming said, coming up to me.
"Really?" I giggled.
"Yes. Please come meet me in my dorm in 5 okay? We need to talk", Nicolette whispered, and then left.
I nodded and rolled my eyes as Justin appeared by my side, Hadley and Ally following.
"What was that about?" Ally asked me, raising an arched brow.
"Oh, nothing", I looked around, and tapped my foot impatiently.
"Whatever. So about the party", Justin began.
"Well would you look at the time? I've really gotta go!" I began to walk when Ally grabbed my arm.
I turned around to look at the nasty snarl on her face.
"We know you're the only Neverlander invited to the party because you're half Wonderlandian. Get us in", She said.
"Yeah, we're your friends", Justin smirked, as his lips and teeth only appeared this time.
"There's a reason why you weren't invited. And I'm not sneaking you in. Good day", I huffed, and broke free from her grip.
I click-clacked my way up the girls dorm.
I knocked at Nicolette and Meredith's dorm.
As soon as Meredith opened the door, she squealed and we hugged.
"Hey!" She exclaimed.
"Hi, Mere!"
"Are you here to see me? Come in?" She opened the door wider.
"Actually—" I said.
"She's here to see me", Nicolette smiled and got up from her bed.
"Oh", Meredith's smile washed off from her face.
She plopped back onto her bed and plugged her earbuds back into her phone, listening to some music.
"Okay, we need to talk", Nicolette said, and patted a spot for me on the bed.
"Sure, about what?" I nervously asked.
"...Your little Neverland friends."
"Oh", my voice dropped down an octive.
"I over heard them asking you to sneak them into—"
"Don't worry, I'm not", I nodded.
"Okay. Because they are nothing but trouble. And we don't want them ruining this party", She gave me a sincere smile.
"I promise, I won't. I promised Lain I would meet him by the courtyard. I'll talk to you later", I lied and left.
I seriously did not want to talk about my so-called "friends" anymore.
"Hey", Lain walked up to me as I went outside.
"Hi", I smiled, and fell into step next to him.
"The whole outburst in the cafeteria, it was pretty cool. I'm glad you've finally decided to become one of us", He put an arm around me.
And I slowly shrugged his arm off.
"Is something wrong?" He asked me.
"Outburst? Outburst?!"
"Well yeah, I mean—"
"I didn't break up with Chase for you, Lain. I broke up with Chase for myself", I slowly explained, as we walked outside.
"Oh...I...didn't know", He whispered, and looked at the ground.
"And just because I broke up with him doesn't mean I choose Wonder over Never. They're both my homes. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get to Hazel."
