Harry
“Cher… you must be kidding. This thermometer is probably broken. I don’t believe it.” I said.
“Why? What’s the temperature?” She asked.
“You wouldn’t believe it either.” I shook my head.
“I don’t care. Just tell me.” She said.
“What’s the point of telling you if you wouldn’t believe it?” I asked, rhetorically.
“Just spit it out, Styles!” She yelled. Then she gasped. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Harry! I didn’t-I didn’t mean to yell. Please forgive me.” She grabbed my hand and I felt like my hand was being baked.
“Cher chill. I’m not mad at anyone.” I coughed. “WellmaybejustLouis.” I murmured.
“What was that?”
“Nothing.” I smirked. She gave me a funny look. “Do you want to know your temperature or not?” I asked.
She nodded.
“Alright. You wouldn’t believe me but… 42°.”
Her mouth hung open.
“See, I told you, you wouldn’t believe me.” I said.
“Could you… could you get another thermometer from Katie? I think she has one of those.” She said.
I grinned. “I thought so.” I walked out the door and shouted, “Katie!”
“Down here!” She shouted from below me.
“Do you have any thermometers?” I half-asked, half-screamed.
“Hold on!” She ran up the massive staircase and faced me, panting.
“It’s in here, follow me.” She led me to her room, went over to her bag and handed me a similar-looking thermometer.
“Thanks.” I was about to leave when she said, “Tell Cher that I’ll be leaving in two hours cause my boyfriend’s coming to pick me up.”
I nodded. “I’ll tell her.”
“And tell her to call me up if she needs anything.” She smiled.
I nodded and left and headed towards Cher’s room. When I went there, she was vomiting on a silver bucket.
I dropped the thermometer on the king-sized bed and went over to her.
I held her hair back and patted her back. “Not again. Just let it out Cher.”
She made choking, moaning and unpleasant sounds. “Shh.”
When she finished, she brushed her teeth and went back to bed.
“I didn’t even eat anything.” She said, mournfully.
“It’s alright. These things are normal in pregnancies… Anyway, I got your CHERmometer.” I winked.
She didn’t react to my ‘joke’ but she got the thing and stuck it under her tongue again.
I caressed her cheek and waited for the thermometer. “When do you think Louis’s coming to see me?” She asked.
“I’m not sure, love. Do you want me to Skype him?” I asked, wishing she would say no.
She nodded. “That would be great. I need to see his face again. Desperately.”
So I got my laptop when the thermometer beeped. “Whoops, there goes the CHERmometer.” I said.
She took it out and stared at it in shock. “It’s the same thing. 42°.”
