I'm never going to be good enough

Chapter one: Sage

Hi my name is Sage. Im 17 years old. I now live with my father and his wife. I have lived here since I was 5. I moved here because my mom was killed during a "Rogue attack". I have Brown hair and eyes. Im a little on the heavier set side.I get Physically and verbably abused because I was supposed to shift when I turned 15 but I haven't. I LOVE to read when I have the chance, which is never.

"SAGE!!!" Thats my step-mo- oh my god... I rolled to the side of the bed to look at the clock, 6:15. Holy shit! I jump out of bed throw on my Jeans, Fall out Boy t-shirt, and my black converse.

"Coming!" I quickly run a brush throughout my hair and run down stairs.

"Don't raise your voice at me!" I slow my pace as I breathlessly walk into the kitc- Whack! I tumble to the ground with a stinging pain on of my cheek. I slowly start to rise of the floor only to be thrown down again.

"WHERE THE HELL IS MY BREAKFAST" steam practically blowing out her ears

"I-I'm sorry" I reply shakedly "ma'am" I quickly add . God I hate it here...

"Damn right you are" she says as she stalks to the door. "Now you may get up" with that she slams the door. I don't get up until I here the car start and pull out of the drive way. I slowly get up so I don't get dizzy. I grab a granola bar and look at the time, 6:20. Maybe if I hurry I can- nevermind there goes the bus. Damn there goes my ride. I walk up the stairs and feel tears start to form in my eyes. What have I ever done to deserve this?! I dry my face and go to put on cover-up to cover my bruises and my newfound ma-

*Ding-Dong*

Who in the hell? I quietly run down stairs. I look throught the peep-hole and.... the coast is clear.

"Hey Autumn" I say as I open the door. Hopefully she didn't bring anyone with her... ugh she did. I shouldn't think that she won't bring her mate. "hey Jason"

"Hey Sage" autumn smiles.

"Hey Sage" Jason looks from Autumn to me and frowns.

I raise an eyebrow "What?"

Jason gives me a look, shakes his head, and mouths 'we need to talk'.

"huh?" Autumn says

Jason motions for me to continue. "Are you doing here."

"Oh... you don't remeber?" I shake my head "We were supposed to take you to school today"

"oh yeah I forgot. Sorry"

"that's okay. I'm gonna use the restroom then we can go, okay?" says as she runs up the stairs.

"uh yeah, sure." I muttered.

"What. Hapened.?" I look over and noticed that Jasons eyes arent their normal blue-ish green, but that they are pitch black.

"W-what are you t-talking about Jason?" I mutter nervously.

"I see the marks on you sage! What the hell happened!?" he whisper yells.

I mutter an "oh my god" and my hands fly to cover my face. "uhm I-I..." I cower away from him. I know he's never hit me but still...

"Sage come on. Im sorry I didn't mean to yell at you... Whats wrong Sage?" I look up and see that his gaze and eyes has softened. A few moments later and I haven't said anything and he sighs, "We're not done Sage. Just know that you can tell me anything, okay?"

I sheepishly nod as I hear Autumn coming down the stairs. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah we're ready" me and Jason say at the same time. I look at him as he looks at me and laughs as I blush.

"What's wrong with you two" as she points to us.

"Nothing" we say in sync. I blush deeper, if thats even possible. He chuckles deeply and says "wow"

I look at him and shake my head saying "right".

Check, Check, Check, Half Check, and.. On my way.

"Okay let's go" I say as i shoo them out the door but before Jasons out of the house I grab his arm and say "The park; 5:30. Meet me there" and let his arm go he stiffly and slowly nods.

I take a deep breath in and out. Lock the door and off to the second worse place of my life. School.

I take another deep breath in and out and step out of the car. Immediatly Jason is by my side Mummering "I know" I froze in my steps.

"What" I whispered.

"I know" he mutters again. He grabs my arm and pulls it a little to get me to walk. I slowly start to walk thinking 'what does he know' and 'which one'. I guess i'll find out later

"What is your first period class?" I look at him and raise an eye brow. He gives me a look telling me to give him an answer.

"Uhm, okay. English 10"

"Damn. Okay you have that class with Autumn, right?"

"No she's in advanced English and she has Woods 2"

"Okay, Okay..." His eyes gloss over and I immediatly freeze; He's mind-linking someone. I yank away from him and He looks at me.

"What's wrong Sage?" okay wow I forgot she was here.

"Nothing" I mutter. "I'm going to English, bye." I start to walk away and I hear Autumn Growl. I turn around to see whats wrong and I see Jason holding Autumn from attacking one of my main bullies. I walk up to Autumn and grab face and look her in the eyes and say "i'm okay, i'm right here."

She pulls awayfrom me and shakes Jason's Hands away and yells "No it's not! Nothing is okay! Nobody deserves that! Except the people that are doing it!"

She gives my main bully one last glare and storms away.

I look at jason and say "What the hell Jason!" he just shrugs "so much for school"

I go and grab my bag from the floor and walk out the double dorrs that Autumn just stormed out of.

Hey, so far so good. It could be worse.

******* A/n Okay there are 1045 words in the first chapter. Even though no one will probably read this. I've been working on this book all day long. I'll probably update tomorrow or later on tonight. and this is jason
