"I live for the applause, applause applause" Lady Gagas song chimed in my ears, blocking out the sounds of the world, I played with my black hair and made small plats, sitting alone at lunch was terrible.
"So Riley invited all of us to Mason bay this weekend. you coming Rebecca?" I overheared from the popular group, I wish I could be like that- Happy. Loved. Respected.
"Erm.. why you staring at me, loser?" the girl who was talking eyed me, as if I was a rat.
I pulled my earphones out, eyeing her back.
"I do what I want"
"Ug. fag" a boy replied from the table and everyone laughed.
she rolled her green eyes at me "Maybe in Your mind its alright to stare, but society thinks its not" she turned back to her table.
"Drop it, Mia. leave her alone" a thick masculine voice came from the side of the table, Mia eyed the boy and sat down.
"Riley"
so that was Riley, the guy who told the bitch to shut up "Baby, I'm teaching her a lesson, staring is rude" Mia eyed him flirtously, but Riley looked up at me and our eyes met, but I quickly broke it and looked back down at my phone.
After school I was walking to my locker, head down and headphones in, when I heard my name, I turned around and saw Riley, jogging towards me.
I pulled my headphones out, twirling it between my fingers nervously.
"Hey, your Serena, right?" he asked, and I nodded, raising a brow, "I wanted to thank you for before" I whispered, still looking down, I didn't want to meet his sea blue eyes. I could feel them on me.
"No problem" he told me, amusement in his voice.
"I better go" I lowered my head, starting to walk away.
