Chapter 7

Of course The slutty 5, being the snitches they are, Ratted us out to our Head teacher. So now all of us are sitting outside of her office, waiting for our punishment and... Conner wasn’t taking it to well.

“What if I get suspended? My mom will freak!! What if she excludes me!?! No, no, no, that cannot happen. I won’t get my qualifications, and then I’ll have to work in Burger King. I’ll have nothing! Nothing I tell you! NOTHING!!” Conner said practically hyperventilating.

“Hey! Chill, what happened to my big, strong, idiot of a boyfriend?” Said Paris in a soothing voice.

“You’re right. I’m just freaking out I’ve never got in this much trouble before”

We all sat in silence after that, truthfully no-one but me deserved to be there except for me.

“Everyone...” I said to catch their attention. They all looked at me expectantly. “ Go back to class, this was my prank and I deserve the blame”

“Chels don’t be stupid” Said Kayla

“Yeah, we all had a part in this” Sammie added.

“And we all did it for the same reason” Spoke Mike

“Because, we all love Star” Mark said.

“That was very touching, but you still destroyed a hall way, messed with the air conditioner, and used the cafeteria’s food supply for this week.” Mrs Delafanta said. When did she get here?

“Miss please, punish me”

“Chelsea!” Everyone shouted but I carried on.

“I brought everyone into this, so miss please, please don’t punish them”

Mrs Delafanta looked at me and then at the rest. “Are you sure you want to take full blame Miss Andrews?”

“Yes, I’m sure”

“Then come with me”

And with that I followed her into her office...

“Two weeks!” Dad shouted at the top of my lungs. Mrs Delafanta told me that because of my prank and reckless behaviour, not to mention my language (Which I’m guessing my darling step- mom told her) I had earned myself a two week suspension. I ,of course , was thrilled to get a vacation from school but my Dad... not so much.

“What the hell was going through your mind when you thought it was a smart idea to pull that stupid prank?!”

“I..I” I couldn’t speak. His eyes were boring a hole through me.

“I,I what?! Speak then!” My Father boomed pacing on the kitchen floor. The more he spoke, the more tears threatened to fall out of my eyes. “You stupid little B*tch! Why can’t you grow up!? I am sick and tired of your nonsense!! You are turning 16 in three weeks and your still doing stupid sh*t like this! F*ck, you’re just like your mother!”

“I-I’m sorry” I stuttered. Why is he so angry? I know I messed up but he has never looked at me like this before. Never been so angry. Unless... No, it can’t be.

“Sorry? You’re sorry? Tell me, Chelsea Selena Rachael Rosalina Andrews, What are you SORRY for? For stealing food from a cafeteria? For wrecking a hall way? For bullying seven students? Huh? Go on, TELL ME!”

“Dad, please. Don’t do this. It’s the 11th November today, isn’t it? Please Dad, not this year”

“Shut up Charlotte!”

“Dad, please. I’m not Mom. It’s your daughter, Chelsea. Remember?”

“You’re just like her! A spoilt whore!”

“Dad, I’m not. Daddy...” With that he slapped me. It didn’t hurt though; He did this every year since mom left.

My Mother. Charlotte Roberts. She was also known as the best drug dealer in town. My mother hid it from dad until one day a man came over asking for drugs. Dad confronted Mom about it and she told him she had quit but she hadn’t. She never would. For years her business kept growing as did her lies. Dad knew she was still doing it which only started arguments. Then more arguments. Then Fighting. Until my Mother couldn’t take it anymore. While Dad was sleeping, My mother tried to stab him but he awoke before she could. He was so scared after that. Always scared. Mom eventually moved out and went to live in California. I was 8 and Star was 7. It took a few years before Dad moved on and found Sarah and even though I hate her, she still saved Dad from himself. Yet still every year on this day, he goes back to this. The day she left.

“Daddy, I’m going soon. Please stop.”

“Leave then! Just like your Mother!”

“I’m home! Sarah’s here too!” Shouted Star from the doorway. No. Not her. “Star, go get your stuff okay?” I yelled back.

“What? Chelsea, what’s going on?”

“It’s the 11th, go get my stuff too okay? I’ll be out in a bit.”

“O-okay, be careful. Please!”

“See daddy, it’s all right now Sarah’s here.”

“Sarah?” Dad said, his eyes softening at the mere mention of her name.

“Yes, Sarah’s here” I was backing up as Sarah rushed in, hugging Dad, whispering sweet nothings in his ear. Star must have told her. “Go Chelsea. I got it from here.” Sarah whispered. I took that as a signal to leave. Sarah could handle this now, She always seemed to be able to tame him on this day. Star was waiting on the bottom step with mine and her bag for the night. “It’s time to go now” I said the same sentence I do every year. We grabbed our bags and left to the one friend we both trusted with our lives. Jade.
