I woke up hearing Dan's voice. He would talk for a while then stop. He sounded concerned. I put my robe on and headed to the kitchen.
Dan was on the phone. Hm.Unusual. He usually just texts. I sat at the breakfast bar eating a bowl of mini wheats cereal. A few minutes later Dan got off the phone. "What was that?" asked Phil.
Dan shook his head. "Today, we're going to a funeral," said Dan,exasperated.
Phil and I had worried looks on our faces. "For....who?" questioned Phil. "Come to my room and I'll tell you," sighed Dan.
We all sat on Dan's bed silently." A few towns away there were some girls who had their own group.They were huge phans of us. Ever since we adopted you, they apparently started telling everyone phan is real. There were six girls in this group. But one didn't think phan was real. She thought we just adopted you because you needed a caregiver, which is true.The one girl was extremely annoyed and got carried away. The other five girls were found dead in the one girls room. Today we are going to the funeral of Rebecca,Katelyn,Grace,Madison,and Whitney.Even though me and Phil are not dating or anything, that is no reason to kill a group that believes in phan. That's terrible." whispered Dan.
A tear rolled down my face. I ran to my room. I hate myself. It is all my fault those girls believe in phan and were killed. I began sobbing. I heard pounding on my door."Hannah its okay, can I come in?" pleaded Phil. I sniffed ,"Yes."
Phil walked in and sat on my bed. "Its okay. Those girls are in a better place now and the killer is in custody," comforted Phil. "Its not that." I sobbed."All those girls said phan was real because of me. And they were killed and its all my fault!"Phil stroked my hair."Shhhhhh..."he whispered calmly.He was very comforting. I started to feel dizzy and my vision went blurry. Before I realized it I fell asleep.
I woke up a few hours later and got ready for the funeral. I felt like the funeral would make me feel even worse about the tragic killing.
