out of all six members of the blue club, andy is by far the most gusty.
she is the one who leaves pink kisses on scrap paper that has her number inked on it, cradled in the hands of a girl she thinks is cute. she is the one who kept the jean jacket of that one drummer at that one concert, because he has a really nice sense of style. andy takes her dares with a side of truth, knowing that honesty holds the same umph as a dare. andy faces the world with double cuffed jeans and her bra at home; and punches anyone who thinks andrew can't be a girl's name.
it was obviously a bubble gum popping, world stoppin' moment when andy refused to talk to matty. the other five blue girls knew one day she would face something and suddenly lose her bravery... but over a boy? of course, he was a pretty spectacular boy, but a boy nonetheless.
"i just...." andy begins, then sighs, popping another cherry into her mouth. olivia and may look on at her looking on at him looking up at the bright blue sky. he's with adam, and they're smoking and nodding faintly everyone once in a while as a pair of pink headed girls talk them up.
it's the last day of finals, during the sixth hour test. half of the club either exempted or had a study hall, and matty...well, matty just felt like breathing outdoors at the moment.
"if i felt the need to address a pretty junior, i would, ok?" andy huffs, more to herself than anyone else. for the first time in all of her being (as far as she is aware) andrew fletcher is shaking in her boots at the thought of talking to someone. conversing with the president of the united states? piece of cake. matty healy, the boy with the hair and the music and the everything that was too damn good? she'll pass for today.
"they're playing tomorrow, y'know," oli chuckles, unwrapping a dum-dum.
"oh."
this causes may to roll her eyes extremely hard and grumble,"you act like that doesn't make you wanna piss yourself out of excitement. if it wasn't hella good music and i didn't love you a terribly large amount, i don't think i'd put up with this."
"where?" andy mumbles out, not looking away from matty. he's smiling now, and her insides are melting away into a puddle of goo.
"mars rock. eleven - oh - ten. can i assume the blue club is going? cause jay is gonna let us in from the back if we are, and that means we get to eat the leftover daily special," may explains, smiling extremely hard. if may loves anything, jay and her job are on the list.
matty looks down quickly, right into the eyes of andy. her breathing stops all together and she can't even blink out of fear she'll miss something. it was a scene straight out of a movie- boy sees girl from the other end of wherever, and it feels as though it's just them. he furrows his brows, 'cause he hasn't seen her before; he thinks he would remember a face like that. he nods her way and closes his eyes, resuming his peaceful state. to andy, however, the world has just been remade because her existence has been acknowledged by god himself.
"catch me at mars, then."
