Chapter 8

Logan's pov

I broke off the hug with my mom, cleared my throat and gave my mom a disapproving look.  The man came and stood behind my mom and kissed her cheek. "And who is this honey?"he asked. 

I already didn't like him. I wasn't one to judge but I also didn't like people very easily. This guy had a Jock look to him. He was heavily built, had dirty blonde hair which was disgusting, unlike Dave's hair, and he had this look on his face that said that 'I'm the most important person in the world' .  He also had an 'I am dumb' look as well, so that was a relief. It showed that he was normal. 

Mom disturbed my thoughts by telling me that that guy was her boyfriend and his name was Bill, or did she say Bob,I forgot already . That's how unimportant he is. She then invited me inside, Dave was introduced and she then asked me to invite Tris and Jake in. I then got a scolding about how rude I was by letting Tris and Jake stay in the car .We were in the living room, with Mom, Tris and Dave in the kitchen making tea. That Bob/Bill guy was in the living room with me and Jake. It was awfully awkwardly quiet . Jake was very far away in his own world, so I don't think he can break the tension.  I decided to talk.

"So.."I started off.

This gained Bob/Bill's attention.

"So.."he replied.

"How did you meet my mom?"I asked.

" Well, it's a weird story really. I was at the restaurant where she works, feeling lonely and all. I ordered a lot of drinks ,and became too drunk and loud for the manager, appearantly I was scaring away his customers. So he forced me to leave.  I went to my car, I could barely get in, I puked on the ground. Your mom found me, and I blacked out. I woke up in this house, and I fell in love with her ever since. We've been together for 2 weeks now,"he finished off with a smile. 
This guy is weird. There's something off about him.  I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting ,maybe it's my hatred for him that's talking but something is a bit odd about him. But like I said,it might be the fact that I don't like him.  Mom,Tris and Dave came back with tea and cookies. "Oh Tris,your boyfriend is such a nice young man.  Why haven't you ever talked to me about him.  You sent me letters, but none about him,"my mom said. I felt my cheeks start to heat up. " Mom, we only started dating.  " My mom sat down next to Bob/Bill while Dave handed me my tea and sat down next to me.  Tris excused herself. We had quite a conversation and enjoyed ourselves.

After catching up with my mom and saying our goodbyes, we rode off. I then decided that we should go to Damon's house.  I haven't seen him for quite some time. I explained to everyone in the car who Damon was. Tris was a bit over excited, Jake was chilled, like he always was, Dave however, was a bit worried. He didn't want to show it but it was evident to everyone in the car ,we knew him that well. I asked him multiple times what was wrong, but he wouldn't tell me.  He made the ride to Damon's house very uncomfortable, and it was one heck off a long ride. We arrived at Damon's gate. Damon was rich, his father being one of the richest businessmen in America and his mother being one of the most respected lawyers in the country .  So I rung the bell at the gate. And the huge gate opened. We rode in the long driveway and stopped the car in front of the front door.  It was massive. Everyone admired the door while I got out of the car.  As I climbed the stairs to the door,the massive doors opened and out ran my best friend. He ran towards me with his arms opened wide. He was still wearing his Batman pijamas, those pijamas have been there almost all his life. He ran to me and hugged me tight lifting me up in the process and circling me around.  "Logan! Thank God you're all right. Where have you been? I couldn't reach your phone. Your mom wouldn't tell me anything!  " He then put me down,because Dave cleared his throat." I missed you too, Damon.  Uh,this is Dave. Dave,this is Damon.  "I said.
