Chapter 4 The Shadow

I was there sitting on the cold dusty floor with my friends. We were waiting for Kai to come back out. He wasnt coming anytime soon but i understand his shame and embarrasment. I was still wondering what Kai was going to say in my dream. He didnt finish his statement because the real Kai interrupted. Now im not sure which Kai i liked better, The dream Kai that was a good Kisser or the Kai that saved me? Either way there both cute. I broke out of my thoughts when i heard something being dragged in the room. I looked down the long hall. I could see a black dog holding a rabbit. It threw it against the brick wall. " Where is she?!!" The dog spoke to the rabbit. I was about to scream when Ariana slapped her hand across my mouth and put her finger to her lips. Kamry and Sarah caught on. We sneeked into a shadow and stared at the 2 mystical animals. " Never!.." The Rabbit said. He gasped for air. He was injured. Then sarah was sniffling, She was gonna sneeze!. Kamry tried to make her stop. But she blew. AACHHOOO!!!. Right before the dog was going to snap the rabbits head off. The dog sniffed the humid air. He started walking torward us but the rabbit was no longer a rabbit. He shifted into a white bull and knocked the dog off of his hind paws. We stared as the two animals that were in battle. They were like gladiators, graceful with each hit. Sarah could no longer bear the sight and ran past them down the way we came We ran past the bloody sight and turned every 2nd path that was there to take. We fell through this Hole. And we lay stil,l knocked out in a pit of blackness. I was the first to wake up. I found myself staring at the white animal that was injured with bloody scrapes by his leg and his neck. I see that it was breathing so i tore off a piece of my long sock and put it around his stomach. I leaned forward looking at this secret whole. I moved closer to the wall, every inch made my body nacious. I looked to see that the dog was spitting blood and had a huge tear by his ribs. The dog had red eyes and a muzzled jaw. His fur was coated with dirt and had to take a haircut. Its tail was cut and its ears drooped like it was melting. You could tell the dog was in a bad mood. He let the white animal get the best of him. He ran away searching for his vengence. 

I looked at the dead still bunch laying helplessly on the ground. All i could see that i can use is rocks and sticks. i crawled torwards the bunch and felt there cold bodys for heartbeats. I was happy the girls were alive but scared that the white creature was. I collected sticks and watched the infested rats go to corner to corner. I threw the sticks into a corner. and grabbed some rocks and placed them in a neat pile. I was grabbing the sticks to surround the rocks but the next stick had a angry mama rat.  It screeched. AHHHHHHH! I fell back hurting my back. And the rat bit me on the leg."Stupid Rat". Someone picked me up. He was handsome with curly brown hair. with blue eyes and a nice white smile. I stared at his features. they were so cute. "Hello earth to claire" he repeated." OH hi..". He wore dark jeans with a polo cream shirt. he had scrapes and blood on his arm and the bottom of his jeans. "I am Dean", "You are Arianas Gaurdian" "thx to you i used to be yours". With a face full of fustration i didnt get this process at all. " You see Claire i worked with Kaimana to keep you safe but  you ran into ariana and i held her up and i fell in love with her ever since but i still like you Claire". I felt a rush through my vains the way he touched me left a cool vibe that went through all of my body. He lay me down and started a fire. He was strong, He had biceps of course not bad and he took his shirt off once so he could wipe his sweat total 6 pack. I felt the heat of the fire it had this glow so when it hit us there was shadows. Then i looked around for the white animal, "OH NO!". At that same time i saw a white shadow attack a corner."EEEEEEEEE" I heard a rat screech. "Dean, did you see that?. Dean?". He wasnt there and out of that corner a white fox appeared with 7 rats caught in its jaw. It dropped them by the fire then the fox stood on its hind legs and shifted into.... Dean. "You are the white creature!" I said in astonishment. "Ya i told you i protected you guys, I was that white dog that followed you and ariana around the Alleys the one that attacked that man with a knife". "Oh yah! I remember". Thats when movement began stirring in the pile of bodys. "Claire dont tell them i can shift, Just say you saw me and thought id be a good gaurd, And dont forget, I love you.". He shifted into a white fox. " Cook the rats over the fire with that long stick" He bickered. i went over to the gray stack of vermons "yuck". I grabbed the long stick and jabbed it at one of the rats. I was to scared to touch it, WF grabbed it by its jaw and slid the rat up? I jabbed another, Same routine. I guess he was helping. I put the stick over the fire on a set WF set up. I sat on the ground looking at the dangling carcasses. I was feeling a little tired. so i lay myself down. Dean crawled into my lap and nuzzled into a ball. Sarah woke up and stared at her surroundings "where are we?" " We all fell into a pit". " She crawled torwards me and petted the soft white coat of dean. She looked up and her face was priceless with the wide eyes and dropped jaw, her face turned green, Her cheeks red, And the endless standing up little hairs standing up on her neck. I knew she was grossed out by the dead rats but i guess that wasnt it. Because her words turned out to be this then a sudden Barff. " Why would you cook rats.....Without taking out there carcasses and Oregno!". I was shocked this girl ate Rat before! " You ate rat before?!" "Duh I couldnt fine my way home in paris and had to eat a rat using some more ingredients". She grabbed the stick took off the under cooked rats and cut a whole in there tummys with a stick and pulled out there skeletons. She tied there feet together " We need some spices. She grabbed her backpack and pulled out some minerals and these little teared up leaves? " Rock salt and Basil" She said a little annoyed. She grabbed a wooden bowl and put the 2 ingredients in. She twisted a rock into her plam and started smashing the ingredients. She grabbed water that the teachers gave us and mixed it in. When she was done mixing she poured the mix into the rats. I was going to throw up. But Dean was just licking his chops. Silly dean i thought. I watched the rats roast as they turned into a crispy golden color. It looked tasty, eww i think it looks good? gross. I smelled the seasoning leaving a trail of smell. I was hungry and i guess Sarah heard my belly grumble. She glimpsed torward me and looked at my stomach. She looked at the rats grabbed one and said " Eat it slowly" "Thx". Sarah was nice she was always kind me and my friends loved her. She wore a pink shirt  that was american eagle with a light denim blue jacket. She had Dark jeans with some reebok shoes. She had a Navy blue scarf and a Mustache backpack. It was pink with black mustaches decorating the plain pink. She was one of the innocent ones. She would always cheer you up and... "Claire?".  Kamry and Ariana already woke up. And I saw that dean was next to ariana. Trader,  I thought. " Whos this?" Ariana asked. I was about to say dean but he coughed giving me stink eye. I could tell how serious he was trying to keep his identity. " Well, I found him i thought he would be a good gaurd. He has a few injuries but we can help him right?". "YA" Sarah said.

We all ate our rats and sat back hoping that the dog wont find us. After that I went to get more sticks for the fire since it was dieng. Dean followed me, I saw him walking on his tiny paws trotting torwards me so cute. "Claire I know the way back up to the door you guys were at. The black dog is looking for you we should get going". The black dog wanted me? why? "Ok" I said unconfortably. I was wondering? where would he be? I got back to the group. And we walked. I didnt know where we were going so i walked ahead with dean wrapped round my neck whispering directions. At this rate I will be talking to trees. He led us to where we last were. I could see the stains of blood dry on the floor. With all kind of animal footprints, Bunny, Bull, Dog, Horse, And duck?
