what have I done

she awoke to something drooling on her. she opens her eyes and found her old dog "Kogan". she had him many years ago but her father through him out because he was chewing  on the couch. after they reunited she looked at the tall mountains ahead and said " thats where we are going up to the hills right where we belong". she made breakfast and gave Kogan her leftovers. she pack up all of the things she would need to survive. matches, clothes for hot and cold, pocket knife, food , shelter, and water canisters. she put every thing into her bag and gave Kogan his own small bag to carry his own supplies. they began to walk they  crossed the stream and into the orange grove. when she previously came to the field she would run a little bit further each time and place a stick where she stopped. she looked at her last marking , looked at Kogan, turned around to look one last time, and took her past markers and began to walk further. as she got closer to the mountains she noticed a thin dirt path to her left. she went over and noticed there where sings such as "shadow creek 8 miles", or "shadow pass 12 miles". there was also  maps in a holder, she took one a grabbed out a snack she sat down next to the sing and pulled out a marker and opened her map and traced the road she would take up to shadow creek. she got up and began to walk further more. as she continued she found more sings  stating witch way to turn and where is where. when she got to the creek it was nearly  sun set. she made her and Kogan dinner and set up her camp. she looked back and saw a small house light up old and dark. she started to see people come out and saw a female figure. then she realized there wasn't any other houses for miles that was her old home and her mom was calling for her as she always did when she was gone for over two days. then she asked her self  "what have i done".
