Ariana P.O.V.

As Peyton carries me out I try not to realize how strong he is, I fail. He definitely caught me checking out his muscles. When we get outside he sets me down and I balance on one foot holding on to the car door. He gets in and after about two minutes comes out.

"Well I have some bad news, my car is out of gas."

I look at him. "Oh no."

He runs his hands through his hair. "My car is useless now!"

I start to panic. "Um, how are we supposed to get home?"

He checks his watch. "Taxis don't run past 7 and its 7:30. And home is too far to walk."

I breathe faster. "Please tell me you have a plan."

He puts his hand on top of mine that is on top of the door handle "Don't worry, my best friend Mitchell will come get us." He pulls out his phone. "It's dead."

"What?" I ask.

"I used it all up as a flashlight."

I check my phone. "Mine's dead too." I look up at him.

"I'm sure there is a way out of this. We could head down to a grocery store and use their phone."

I nod. "Okay. But how do we get down there if one of us is a cripple." I point to myself.

He almost laughs. "Okay there is an old phone inside. It probably only has a few seconds left to call on but we can use them to call Mitchell."

He comes and picks me up, he laughs. "You're just happy you don't have to walk anymore."

I stick my tongue out at him. "Just call your friend Bozo." I joke.

When we get inside he sets me in a chair. He walks over to the check in desk and picks up the old phone, dialing Mitchell's number. I only hear what Peyton says.

"Hey man it's Peyton I really need a ride."

"Really?"

"Okay as soon as you get home."

"It's a long story I-" I hear the phone shut off. Peyton turns to me. "Phone's out and Mitchell is on vacation. But he will pick us up at 5:00 PM tomorrow."

I slump back into my chair. "Tomorrow? We have to camp out at this haunted hotel? And then stay here all day tomorrow?" I put my head in my hands.

"Sorry Ari it's the best I could do."

I nod. "I know, thanks for getting us this far."
