~Chapter 8~

It was around 9ish when Selena finally left Taylor's house, this time laughing and smiling instead of crying like she had been on her way in. About half an hour after Selena had left, Taylor found herself with nothing to do. She'd just repainted her nails, tidied up hers and Selena's mess, talked to her parents on the phone and tweeted some pictures of Meredith, and now she was bored. Her eyes darted around the room, searching for something to do, when they landed, just like earlier, on her guitar.

Pushing herself up off the sofa, Taylor grabbed her guitar, an idea for a song suddenly forming in her head. After playing a few chords, and jotting some notes down, Taylor grabbed a fresh piece of paper and began to write.

All I knew, this morning when I woke,

I didn't before,

And all I've seen, since 18 hours ago,

Is green eyes, and freckles and your smile,

In the back of my mind...

What next?! She thought, biting the end of her pen and looking down at the paper she'd just wrote on. She thought about her feelings, her emotions about this guy she hardly knew. And then she got it.

Smiling to herself, Taylor drew a little doodle love heart with the letters 'E+T' in it, as she thought how she'd felt she'd known Ed a million years, just from his music. Then she sighed, dropped her pen, and leant back against the sofa. She felt as though everything was changing. Like the world was changing around her, as she just stood there watching it go by. How she felt like all she knew was Eds face, his smile, his laugh. And then the next part of the song came to her.

Dropping the pen again, Taylor picked up her guitar and played through what she had so far. But something about didn't seem right...like there was something missing. Sighing, Taylor tried to carry on with the song, but she couldn't seem to make it work, and sound right. She wanted to write about how he was holding back. That he was on guard. Like he didn't trust her. Looking up at the clock, Taylor realised it was 10pm. Yawning, Taylor stood up and headed upstairs.

It was when she was laid in bed that night, thinking about the song she'd started, when the idea formed in her head. Get Ed to sing it with you! She thought, smiling at how simple it was! Maybe, that way she could try and hint to him how she felt. She could hint that the song was about him, and then, they could both sing it! Sitting up in bed, Taylor grabbed her phone and quickly tweeted her feelings:
