Chapter Thirty-Seven

Walking through the woods, I wrap my arms around myself as I feel a strange feeling in my stomach.

Coming to a river with a dock, I walk on the creaking wood and sit down at the end, dipping my toes into the cool water.

I'm still confused.

Nathaniel kissed me last night.

I didn't sleep at all, we stayed up all night and he told me stories about all the things we did together.

Like when he took me to Mexico and I got lost, he found me on a pier eating cotton candy.

We did so many things together, went on so many adventures together, but I don't remember any of it.

He told me that if he had to wait forever for me then he would because he loves me.

He left at about 5am.

It's now 7am, well around that time, it when 7 when I left the pack house.

Everyone's probably eating breakfast by now.

Watching the sun dance on the water I smile, raising to my feet I stand with my toes right on the edge.

Slipping out of my clothes I dive into the cool water and smile.

It's so nice.

Swimming around, I lay on my back and float on the clear water.

This will be my new happy place.

I swim around for about 20 minutes before my breath starts showing from the autumn air.

Climbing out I quickly dress and start walking back to the pack house.

Are you looking for me?" I sing quietly as I look at all the leaves falling to the floor.

Seeing George leant against the back door to the pack house with a cup which looks warm.

He smiles at me and I walk up to him, he wraps his free arm around me whilst kissing my forehead.

"I could hear you singing, so I made you hot chocolate so you could warm up." He mumbles.

Softly taking the cup I sip it and hum in pleasure.

"Thank you baby." I grin kissing his cheek.

Walking inside I make it upstairs before changing into new underwear, thick leggings and a light brown knitted sweater with fluffy pink socks.

"There's a ball tomorrow, I want you to be there." George yawns laying his head on my lap as I sit against the headboard on the bed.

Holding my cup close to my face so I feel heat again in my cheeks I close my eyes.

"Will everyone else be there?" I ask.

"Of course, it's our pack and the Blue Moon Pack. We've both signed a treaty to put our pasts behind us and join our forces if ever needed." He mumbles.

"Okay.."
