Elegy

A week has passed since the catastrophe,

needless to imply that my blood is still running cold.

I would like to dedicate a few moments of mine to this elegy,

I want to compose this poem sub rosa.

I heard you were laid to rest the day before,

We're still trying to sleep all the pain away.

I heard you have now crossed paths with the Lord & Savior,

you were always so fond of Him.

You believed in Him even when others were against it.

You treated everyone the same even those who are ruthless.

You did your utmost to see the good in everything

even when the world was on your feet.

Let us not forget your compassion for others

or the presence that used to light up our world;

the presence that is now no longer lingering in this world

but is now lingering in our hearts.

Ultimately it's not your absence that saddens me,

it's the fact that I try to convince myself that you're still here

but the social media keeps telling me otherwise.

But at least you're safe from harm,

no one can lay a single finger on you now.

I know you're watching over us

along with the other cherubs.
