The sniper set up his rifle in the hidden cover of the trees. He camouflaged his face to match the dark green of the leaves and settled down to wait for the Royal Guards that would be passing through. This was their only entrance to the castle, so his commanding officer placed him and two other snipers at the mouth of the forest. He hardly had to wait before the Royal Guards showed up. They marched in lines and rows of 5 so that there were twenty-five Guards, a gap, then twenty-five more. As soon as the snipers had them within their field of vision, they started shooting. Those who were smart hid. Those who weren't, ran, and were killed. Eventually, the ground was littered with corpses of the fallen Guards.

The snipers kept their eyes sharp and surveyed the land for more Guards that might still be alive. Just then another sniper that went by the name of Alpha Sigma Delta, radioed in.

"Zeta Alpha Omega, come in, come in!"

"Yes, Alpha Sigma Delta?"

"I'm being gunned down by trespasser shooters!"

"Where are you, soldier?"

"Near the pass-... boulder-... march-..." A loud crackle was heard before silence.

"Dammit, soldier."He mumbled and sighed.

He radioed to the two other snipers and told them to keep an eye out for any other Guards. They radioed

"Affirmative."

And Z.A.O. packed away his setup, and carefully climbed down the tree. Then he set off to where soldier A.S.D. had been stationed. He stealthily made his way through the forest and finally reached the boulder where soldier A.S.D. had been stationed. There was no one to be seen. He looked around cautiously at the other stations and sneaked his way around the boulder slowly. There. A foot.

He crouched down, reached forward and pulled on the ankle. When he was able to identify the fallen soldier, he saw that is was soldier Omega Iota Delta. He rested a moment to pray for him. He didn't know him much, but he was very funny, always telling joke after joke, story after story. Now, however, was not this time to reminisce. He inched his way forward some more. Nothing else, just this one body. Where could he be then? He searched his mind to see if soldier A.S.D. had been placed anywhere else last minute.

As he was thinking, he heard a gunshot go off to his left. He turned his head, and in a split second a bullet whizzed past him and lodged itself into a nearby tree. That one was close. Too close. It left a ringing in his ears. He didn't know where else to search until he heard a voice ring out.

"There! Across the river! I see them!" He turned his head to the right.

A couple of his men were pointing to some royal guards moving in a troop. He didn't care about them. Although it was technically his duty to take them out, he wanted to find A.S.D. first. He suddenly remembered his commanding officer telling him to move a couple of his troops to the river to cover more area. One of the troops that he'd moved had held soldier A.S.D. He crawled his way down to the river to scout out nearby boulders where he could have been stationed.

There! Up ahead! A boulder near where the royal guards had passed! He crept up to the boulder and inched his way around. He looked around in dismay. No one there. Where could he be? No sooner had the thought passed through his brain that he heard another gunshot. This time he wasn't as lucky.
