41. Warmth Of You

"WAKE UP BUTTERCUP!"

The sudden shout immediately jumped you out of your sleep. You gave a small scream at the sudden startle, pulling your covers off the top half of your body as you sat up. You looked to the side of your bed, only to find Chara standing there. "Good morning Chara.", you groaned in exhaustion. "What's the rush for?", you asked after stretching a little. "What rush?", Chara asked, tilting their head ever so slightly. "Why'd you wake me up like that?", you revised wearily. "Oh. Hah, no reason I just wanted you to wake up.", they replied smiling whilst glancing over to the window, looking out at the morning sun.

You stared at them in silence for a few momets before laughing a little. "Well in that case.", you said before pulling your covers over your body again. You laid down onto your side against the mattress once again, making yourself comfortable as you rested your head on your pillow. "G'night Chara.", you sighed as you closed your eyes. You knew they weren't going to let you go back to sleep, so you were basically just edging them for a reaction. "G'night.", Chara replied, which you really didn't expect. 

What they did next though, actually caught you by surprise. You suddenly felt a figure of warmth being collapsed against the side of your body, beating the breath out of you. You gasped and looked over your shoulder, only to find Chara collapsed on you. "Chara!", you laughed as they stayed put. "Go back to sleep (Y/N).", they said simply, closing their eyes as their back moved up and down in sync with your breathing. "I can't if you're sleeping on me!", you replied as you decided to lay your head back onto your pillow.

You both fell under a long moment of silence, Chara finding their body moving to your breaths quite relaxing. "Have any plans today?", they suddenly asked. "Nah.", you sighed after a few heartbeats. Your guardians had left elsewhere this morning, so you had the house all do yourselves once again. But it wasn't anything new, since Chara would literally only tag along with whatever you're doing. You also couldn't help but wonder what they did to stay up all night. Stare at the ceiling? Walk in circles? The guest room was silent all night as if Chara was asleep, even though you knew they weren't. 

"What do you do all night instead of sleeping?", you asked aloud. "Nothing.", Chara replied immediately. You glanced over at them for a second, only to find them... blushing? You mentally started laughing. "You're blushing!", you snickered. "Really? I thought I was Chara.", they joked, trying to cover their face in the covers. You immediately laughed at their response. What were they blushing for though? Did they watch you sleep everynight? Or possibly... do something more pleasurable?

The sudden thought of Chara watching you sleep made you shudder. Chara noticed and felt your shiver, and took advantage to change the subject. "Are you cold?", they asked. You went silent for a few seconds before realizing Chara had asked you a question. "No, just got a shiver outta nowhere.", you sighed. You both went silent once again, before you decided to snicker a random question: "Why do you like laying on me so much?". After noticing how embarrassing the question actually sounded, a slight blush began to creep up on your cheeks. "Because you're warm.", Chara purred.

Trying to ignore your blush, you began to laugh a little to yourself. "But you're not even laying on me! Those are the bedsheets!", you said. "Ah so you're saying you are  cold?", Chara remarked, smirking to themselves. "What?", you snickered. "I can fix that.", they said sitting up and standing on the ground. Quickly, they flipped the side of your cover up and bent down. "Wait, what are you doing-", you were cut off as Chara suddenly climbed into your bedsheets. You gasped and blushed as they climbed over the side of your body and laid atop you once again. Now, there was a lump under the middle of the sheets, indicating Chara's form. 

Your side was somewhat in contact with Chara's stomach, which made you blush madly. Luckily they were under the covers though, so they couldn't see you. Trying to stay comfortable, you carefully flipped onto your back, so now Chara was laid across your stomach. But because of the sudden movement, the bottom of your shirts were pulled up ever so slightly. Suddenly you heard shuffling from Chara as you felt something gently feel your stomach region. 

You immediately recognized it as Chara's left hand, and you moved both your hands under the sheets to move theirs away from your stomach. "Chara what the literal hell!", you called in embarrassment. "You're not cold at all!", they said, their voice being somewhat muffled by the covers. "Well duh!", you laughed as you moved your arms back next to you. You could feel Chara's stomach region somewhat touching yours everytime you inhaled. This made you a blushing mess, but you couldn't help but smile as you looked over your shoulder at the lump under the middle of the bed sheet.
