That afternoon, a lot changed. He did it. He did something that changed everything. It was like somehow he stopped time, just for her. But I'm getting ahead of myself here. Lets start from the beginning.
We had been out on the lake all day. It was just a normal day, tubing, jet skis, sun burns, and flirtation. They used to flirt all the time, them two. They both couldn't confess their feelings for each other. They were madly in love and everyone knew it except for them.
By this time we had all gone inside a little earlier then usual because we were going to a party at someone's house.
The sun had started to set and we all ran out onto the dock because the sun sets were always so beautiful out there. The setting Suns reflection on the water was unreal. It looked more like a dream then reality.
She wore that black crop top that tied around her neck and jean shorts that she knew if her mamma knew she was wearing them, she'd be in trouble. Her brown hair was tied into a messy bun on top of her head and strings of it fell down around her face. She was sun kissed from head to toe and he couldn't keep his eyes off of her.
We were all standing there, on the dock watching the sun set and as it did, he looked at her. He wouldn't look away. That's when I knew he was going to make a move. He finally said "Fuck it." and quickly grabbed her face and kissed her. Right there in front of everyone. Under the burning sun. Their sunburnt noses touching. One hand was on her waist and one was holding her face. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Their love in that moment was more blazing then the sun itself. And when they pulled apart, it was like the start of forever.
