This is it. My last chance. I looked in the mirror and took a deep breath, closing my eyes and going over my lines one last time.
I've asked my dad about a million times to go to college. I even applied and got accepted, which is something I always dreamed of, and yet each time I got up the courage to ask, he knocked me back down on my feet. This time I wouldn't take no for an answer.
I stepped out of my room and was immediately greeted by Olivia, my dads assistant  and my two personal body guards, Ricky and Ben.
"Good morning Ricky," I said in the direction of the man who was twice my size earning a nod in response. "Ben," I nodded again to the bald headed man standing next to Ricky.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Olivia's voice rang through my head, making it heard to be distracted by any other thoughts. She was my only friend here, she had my best interests at heart, but it was kind of sad, you know?
"Yes, Olivia," I said, slightly annoyed. I straightened out my blazer one last time before turning right, in the direction of my fathers office, the Oval Office. "I'm sure. He can't say no this time, and if he does," I paused thinking of what I'd actually do if he said no. I'd probably throw one of my famous tantrums and lock myself away in my room for the rest of the day. Typical Rosie. "Well, if he does, we'll see about it then."
Once we reached the doors I put on my best persuading smile on, and entered. As usual, my father was sitting at his desk, reading the newspaper. "Hi daddy," I grinned, running over to place a kiss on my fathers cheek. I walked over to the sofa in the middle of the room, where my mother was and room a seat down next to her, also giving her a kiss on the cheek.
I decided that there was no point building him up to it any more. It was now or never. "Dad, I want to go to college." I winced when I heard the rifling of the newspapers.
Silence.
For a few minutes there was nothing but silence. I swear I could hear my heart beating through my chest. I squeezed my mothers hand and prayed to God that he would answer soon, hopefully with something I wanted to hear.
"Okay." I heard my father say. Excuse me? Did I hear that right? I looked over at my mother for confirmation, just to make sure I was hearing things, and the smile on her face told me she heard it too. I didn't bother arguing or asking why he changed his mind. I jumped up, screaming, and I ran over to him to tackle him with kisses.
I couldn't believe I was going to college.
