I pace the dank cell I was stuck in, muttering angrily to myself. I knew this would happen. I wasn't careful enough. Why must I always do this?
Sent in on a spy mission to gather intel about Bill and his plans in the Armageddon, I got too desperate and blew my cover. It's my magic more or less. I haven't been able to control it lately. Like it's gathering it's own intelligence. And not on my side.
I plop myself back down with a sigh, stuck in the deep intricate tunnels or cells in the bottom of theFearamid, waiting for Tad to come as he had promised we would in these situations. But it wasn't the first time this had happened. When your fighting a delusional and mad demon, you tend to grow desperate for a lead in the situation..
"(Y/n)!" A soft voice called out. I knew it was Tad. I stand, walking to the cell bars and rest my hands atop the cold bars that trapped me here.
"Thank you for coming.." I murmured back. I felt awful that he had to keep doing this for me.
"Why wouldn't I, love?" He cracks a grin to try and lighten the mood picking the lock from his past experiences.
Once the food creaks open and we get far enough out of the lower levels of the Fearamid, he teleports us away and back to the bunker where we now had a large crew and more tents set up. This is where we battled Bill and kept his chaos from getting out of control. Needless to say things weren't looking so good for us now. Our tactics were old, and Bill was only growing stronger. And we couldn't contain him as easy as we used to. I walk into my bunker, sitting on the bed with a sigh, looking at Tad as he followed and sat next to me, his arms around me.
"I'm sorry you had to come after me today...I should be more careful.." I sigh, slumped over as though a feeling of defeat came through me.
He repeated my sigh and pressed a kiss to my temple assuringly. "Hey...I don't mind breaking you out. As long as your safe and back with me. But we're close. I can feel it. I know it's coming close to our time to come home. Back to my houses.." He flashes an assuring grin, humming gently. "Don't focus on the negatives anymore..I can see them getting to you...just remember I love you.."
I look down. He was right. I've been down in the dumps lately and focused on how we are starting to lose in this war against chaos and sanity. Tad has been my only anchor lately to keep me in the present and not so wrapped up in my mind.
"Just...promise me that you won't let yourself down again? I care about you too much..."
For his sake, I smile and nod, meeting his eyes. "Okay...I promise..."
