So here it was, the Saturday. Not a just, so usual Saturday, but the Saturday she had waited for. Waiting. She had written it more than anything else. More than forever love or missing you. Waiting. Yes, she was waiting. Waiting to get dressed, to get dolled up. Waiting to apply the brand new liquid lip color, she had bought.
She has always loved colors. Bright red, dark mehroon, pink fuchsia.. A little tint of red brightens her face, always. Lips like rose petals, voice as sultry as can be, dress in the most ladylike manner.. She didn't waited for him, partly may be, not solely. She waited for the Saturday to come. Finally it came.. And now she was waiting for his call. A single text, a yes, a green sign. She got dressed a thousand times, in her dreams. Now she was waiting for that dreams to come alive. He, she couldn't remember his face neither his voice. Yes and no.. Handsome yes. Brutal, yes. His utmost desire, yes. But caring, no. A typical boyfriend, no. A gentleman, no.
Still he was all she ever wanted. She couldn't wait to be in his arms again. To feel the hard lips on her delicate ones, to lie beside him. To see him sleep peacefully next to her. Damn.. Waiting was never easy. It's been three weeks, since she had met him. Three weeks.. The big three weeks. He, on her mind, all day and all night. She never thought that she could be so lovesick for someone. She was famous for her fear for commitments. Numerous guys had asked her out, proposed her. She always rejected. Fear of heartbreak sometimes outweighs the satisfaction being taken. She had no idea then, what was waiting for her.Since morning, she was constantly checking her phone, every single text, every ping, every sound.. Alas, there was nothing. From seven o clock to nine to eleven.. She was losing patience. Afraid of her worst nightmares. There was nothing.
Upset, stressed.. She finally called him. The bell rang. One time, two times, three times. All unanswered. She felt a pain in her chest that she can't explain. Whatever was happening was not worthy of her wait. She hadn't planned anything..that meeting and that Saturday.. It was all his. And he, he was out of sight now. Nowhere to see. Her heart sank.
She hated the very idea of disappointment. It didn't suited her. Disappointed faces are so gloomy and devoid of the heavenly aura that made human so vivacious. Disappointment kills. The crushing of hope. So brutal. Hope is all we have. All gone but hope. It gived us a reason to smile again. The best gift from God's, hope. The elendil of dark routes, hope.
Suddenly, there was a beep. It was all she heard. It was a text. From him.
At work, see you at 2.
Six words again gave her hope. Much needed hope. She smiled again. Blaimed herself for doubting too much. Thought there would be all good at last. It was her Saturday after all. No one could destroy it. No one could dare. An angry woman is more dangerous than wildfire. It destroys everything. Most dangerous plaything. But the game was just begun.
Two pm in the afternoon, nothing. No call, no message, nothing. She was breathing heavily. How could anyone be so cruel. Then three in the noon, four....... And then five in the evening. Dusk was about to come. She cursed herself for relying on someone too much. It was height of her stupidity. No one could be the reason of her happiness, then how and why she was letting him to be the cause of her heartache. No, he couldn't be. Who was he, just another man. No, it was not going to be like this. He had no right over her. Nooooooooo..... She screamed inside her head. Determined and sad, she fell asleep. A long awaited day. It didn't deserved an ending like this. It had to be like she had wished for. Like fairytales. But in modern times, no fairies exist neither tales do.
Human life, so easily swayed by emotions. Some promises, some expectations and everything was changed. A happy-go-lucky girl was turned into a damsel in distress with no knight in white armour. Trapped in a curse, like lady of shallot. Whatever she wanted, never got fruitified. Never. So unfortunate. She had given up wanting at the cost of her tears. And then, he appeared. He came, from no where and became the only thing she wanted now. And why, only to give her more tears, more expectations and more heartache. No, he couldn't.
Her eye lids parted. It was now eight. Night glittering with stars. She called him one last time. Bell rang. Her heart skipped a beat. A pause and then the person she was calling was not available to receive the call. No response. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She cried for a man, first time in her life. The waiting was worth it.
