Lisa's P.O.V
I rushed into my office and immediately started to apologise.
"I'm so sorry I'm late..." I quickly glanced down at my register to see who my appointment was with. "...Mr Ross, I was stuck in traffic and-""No it's okay you don't have to apologise, I totally understand there's so much traffic at 10:00 a.m on a Saturday morning" he said. I could sense the sarcasm in his voice. Ignoring his 'joke' I walked to my cabin and pulled out my doctors coat and slipped it on. Then walking back I turned my attention to the sweet little girl I'd grown to love sitting beside him.
"Hello Litha and how are you today?"
"I think I have a sore throat, cause it hurts when when I talk but other than that I'm pretty good aunt Lisa an-"
"Wait a minute aunt?" Mr Ross was looking back and forth at me and Litha. He had also rudely interrupted Litha in the middle of her sentence.
"Yes, she calls me aunt, her mom is my best friend and I just happen to be Litha's godmother. And knowing that I'm very close with their family who are you? Cause I know it says Mr Ross on the appointment form but I know 110% your not her father" I replied but it came out colder than intended.
"I'm her uncle, I've been taking care of Litha while they were out of town."
"Okay then, if you don't mind I'm going to give Litha a check up." I said as I lead her into the check up room.
"Are you sure you know what your doing? " he asked as he followed us into the room. I mean I wouldn't blame him for asking. I rushed in here wearing black ripped jeans, a white top and my black and white shoes Adidas and I was 10 minutes late because I forgot I had one appointment today. I did not look like the ideal paediatric.
"Yes, I assure you I do know what I'm doing"
*ten minutes later*
"Okay Litha does have a sore throat nothing too serious, I'll write you up a prescription for a throat spray and mean while I guess you'll have to stock up on ice cream and soup. Please Try make sure she gets lots of fluids and avoids eating anything sour or spicy. She'll be fine in a week tops. If it gets worse you can come back and see me and we'll take it from there. "
"I was just wondering wondering have we ever met before?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah, 20 minutes ago" I replied returning the sarcasm from earlier on.
He chuckled a bit, making his dimples very visible."Back to what I was going to say. You can get your medicine at the counter just give them your proscription, your initials and your done"
"Um.. Thanks. And are you sure we haven't met before?"
"Yes I'm sure, if that's all. I guess we are done here"
"Okay then thank you again" he said. "Let's go Litha"
"Byee" Litha whispered. I'd asked to try not talk loud or at all so her throat could heel faster.
"It's Lisa right" Mr Ross said pulling out his hand for me to shake.
"Yep that's me" I said nervously. I watched them leave and then turned and looked out at the window. Crap,I knew this day would come. And I was going to nothing about it, it hadn't been that bad after all.
Since that was the only appointment for today I was ready to leave just doing some last minute filing. When 10 minutes later as I was leaving Mr Ross popped his head in.
"Umm... sorry do you know where SNADE's Café is? Litha keeps bugging me asking if we can get her ice cream from there." he'd returned and was sticking his in from the door.
