Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us. - Unknown

I've been staring at the ocean out of the window for the past three hours. All I've seen is water, trees.... oh and more water. "Um, where are we?" I asked. Layla turned around with a soft smile on her face.
"South Carolina." She says. I chewed on the bottom of my lip and stared out the window --again. I looked down at my ripped jeans that had holes in them --permanently. I sighed, blowing out a breath. "How far are we from......?" I asked her. She glanced at me. "Only 30 minutes away." She said, smiling.
I let my finger-tips tap gently on my jeans. I stared down at the fingernails that I've been chewing. I sighed. "Are you okay?" Rob asked glancing at me. I gave him a weak smile, "I'm fine." I lied. "Nothing's wrong." Nothing except, I miss home.
Is it just home that I miss, or maybe its that at home, I can drown myself in my mother's bed that smells just like her. Despite of the freezing and starvation there. Maybe its that I trusted my mother to be there for me when I needed her. Or maybe its just because I don't want to admit that if my long lost brother and his legal guardians didn't come I'd be dead within the next month. I didn't want to admit it.... I'm not going to.

I stare at the beautiful house in front of me. The home that is in front seemed to give off that warm homey kind of feeling. Its pale peachy color perfectly brought out the clean white paint. The windows were oddly shaped, but still a nice add to the house. It seemed about two or three stories high. The surroundings of the house, was a light tinted blue. The decorations was blue and white. The grass was perfectly cut. Nothing like the place I lived.
"I hope you like it, its probably a mess considering the fact that I've left those darn boys at home by themselves." Layla frowned. I looked up at her.
"Boys?" I asked, with a slight frown on my face. "Oh yes, seven boys live in our home, including your brother." She said, chuckling. "Its never boring here." She says. I stare down at the ground, I wonder why.
"I hope your fine with it." I don't have a choice but be fine with it.
"Yes, I'm fine with it." I mumbled. "It's not like I'm gonna be here for a long time anyway." I mumbled and pulled the bag strap tighter on me. Layla and Rob walked ahead of me. I dragged my legs over to the concrete steps. The doors open. I see the living room in the left corner of the room. I look up at Layla who is frowning. "I'm surprised it isn't junky." She whispers to Rob. He smirks.
"For now." He teases. Layla rolls her eyes and turn to me, she smiles. "I really hope you like it here, Raine." She says to me. I almost feel bad, being so rude towards her and she's been nice and caring for me.
Instead of speaking, I stare at the ground and nod. I hear loud footsteps going down the stairs. I let my eyes glance up. A boy who seems about 6'1 or 6'0 makes his way down the stairs. The first thing I notice --his eyes. Big brown eyes that makes his face seem so innocent. His brown hair is curly and messy, his lips are pale pink and thin, not a bad thin, its a thin that plays off pretty well, it adds more features towards his sharp jaw line and cheek bones. I find myself blushing a little as I feel his gaze on me.
"Who's this beauty?" He asks. Layla looks at me with a wide smile, then her eyes looks upon the teenage boy.
"This is Raine, Blake's little sister." Layla says. She frowns then as her eyes gazes up on him. "Brandon, what on earth are you wearing?" She asked him. Brandon then chewed on his lip. I stared at his wear-- his jeans were dirty seeming as if he'd been playing in mud, his shirt had alot of stains and rips on the side of them, his shoes was untied and had a dirty green and brown on them.
