“You must remember, family is often born of blood, but it doesn't depend on blood. Nor is it exclusive of friendship. Family members can be your best friends, you know. And best friends, whether or not they are related to you, can be your family.”

― Trenton Lee Stewart, The Mysterious Benedict Society

                                              Raine -

"I'm waiting." Blake mumbled, folding his arms across his chest. Brandon got off of me and offered me his hand to pull me up. I grabbed it and blushed. He pulled me up, I stumbled into his chest. Oh nice going- thanks alot clumsy!

Brandon chuckled. "We'll Raine was really really REALLY hungry. I mean she was so hungry you could hear her stomach growl-"

"My stomach didn't growl!" I said. Jeremy rolled his eyes. "ANYWAYS, Before I was SOOOO rudely interrupted," He glared at me, "We all went in the kitchen and asked her what she wanted, she wanted some nutella and oreos, which is a very odd pair. I mean what kind of person eats that-"

"Long story short, Brandon, Alex, and Jeremy wanted to add Danny's gummy worms to the nutella and oreo, but Danny didn't want to give them up. Yada yadya, Three of them tackled Danny to get the gummies, Danny threw them to me, and Alex and Brandon tickled me until I gave up."

Jeremy pouted at me because I ruined his chance of story telling. Blake's glare went soft. "Oh, okay then. We need to talk anyway." Blake said looking at me. I slowly nodded, looking at the ground.

Blake and I made our way towards the outside of the house. I stared at the ocean view that was miles from here, but still able to see. I sat down on the grass, wrapping my arms around my waist. I let my hair fall down to cover up my face.

"I'm sorry, it was pretty wrong of me to say those things about Mom.." Blake said, avioding my gaze.

"Its fine..." I mumbled. "You only said it out of anger..." I trailed off, I could feel his gaze on me. I avioded his view and focused on the ocean. I could smell the scent of the ocean dew coming from over here. Blake sighed.

"It's just that Mom's selfish. She only cares about herself;; she-" I cut him off, "I rather not have you speak horrible of Mom." I snapped.

Blake sighed, running his hands through his hair. "I know, I know." He mumbled. There was a short silence. I could tell the tension between us.

"Look, I'm just worried okay. I could handle what mom put me through, but for you. I know you can't deal with it as much." Blake stared at me. I looked at him.

"I'm stronger than I look." I said, glancing at him. Blake smiled. "I hope so." He mumbled. I gave him a soft smile.

Blake's arms went on my shoulders. I scooted over to him and smiled slowly. "What was Dad like?" I asked Blake. He chewed on his lip.

"We'll he was adventurous, he was a book worm. He was intimadating. He's basically another Indiana Jonie." Blake chuclked. I giggled. "Why did he leave?" I asked.

Blake sighed. "I don't know." He looked at the ocean. I followed his gaze. A little boy and his father was fishing on the port. I bit my bottom lip.

"He'll come back for us. Soon you know." I said. Blake didn't speak, he just shook his head and stood up. He made his way back to the back door. "Come on, I'm sure Layla is making dinner."
