His hazel eyes scanned the plain classroom, a small sigh leaving him. It was almost time for the last bell to ring, and he was ready. Not only had the day dragged on for what felt like forever, but it was also a Friday. The eighteen year old just wanted to go home and take a well deserved nap. First weeks of school were tough, especially when you were a senior. The Canadian could feel himself dozing off until his homeroom teacher caught the attention of him and his classmates.

"Before I let you all go for the weekend, I just want to let you all know about the penpal project the school has set up", with that groans were echoed throughout the room. "I know, I know, emailing complete strangers isn't your kind of thing", he sarcastically replied, "it isn't mandatory, but try to send at least one email, guys. I mean if you want an easy A that is."

At that, Justin perked up, he was up for easy grades, he needed them. Biting at his lip, he began gathering his bag once the bell sounded. Everyone ran out the room, a few staying after to hear what their teacher had left to say, Justin being one of them.

"We've already paired you guys up, so if you want to start on it, the list is right here", he lifted up the clipboard before setting it on his podium and returning to his desk to look over papers.

Timidly standing, the eighteen year old walked up along with others before scanning the list, immediately spotting his name, and along side that the name "Lauren Jauregui". A girl? He rose a brow before getting her email down, for safekeeping.

Later that day, Justin was sprawled out in bed, trying not to fall asleep as he watched a random episode of Parks and Rec, which usually wasn't like him. Something about today just wore him out. Letting out a sigh, he sat up and grabbed his laptop, setting it on his lap as he started it up. 'Might as well get this email thing over with', he thought to himself as he waited for his home screen to load. Tapping on the easy access shortcut he set up for his email, he looked through it, deleting any spam he found annoying before his eyes landed on an unfamiliar message.

From: Lauren Jauregui
Subject: hi penpal buddy!

His eyes overlooked the message before he shrugged, it looked like she wanted to get this over with, too. He smiled before clicking her email, to see what it was that she had typed him.

Hey! I'm hoping I got the right email, otherwise this would be really awkward, haha. But I mean, kidrauhlisdabest94? Really? lol, I shouldn't talk.. My email is more embarrassing. But, uh I already said hey and you probably already know my name! Unless you don't even know what this is, maybe you weren't even in class today and this could look like spam. Oh god, well at least I tried right?! Anyways! Let me go on a limb and say that you were in class and you decided on doing this thing, too. I'm seventeen and a senior at Carollton School of The Sacred Hearts; which is an all girls private school.. In Miami! Fun, right?

I'm a really outgoing person and I think you should email me back some random fact about yourself. I'll name another fact! I have a stuffed lion named Nala that I guard with my life, only because my best friend gave it to me and I got her a matching one. Okay, i'll leave this short and end it here. But don't forget! Give me a fact, mister. :)

He chuckled lightly at the girl's message, it was cute to say the least. Chewing at his bottom lip, Justin cracked his fingers before beginning to type up a reply back, determined to impress her. He didn't know why, but something about this girl tugged at him in the right ways.

Hi, Lauren. I was in class today so you don't have to worry about a thing lol. I'm Justin, but you knew that. I'm not really a talkative person so I don't even know if i'll be able to say as much as you did. Uh, i'm 18 and I'm currently a grade twelve at Stratford Central Secondary School... Which is in Canada. I've never been to Miami, it must be hot down there, no? Also, give a shoutout to Mister 305 for me well ya? Dale. ;)
