~Lola's POV.~
I woke up the same as every morning to the birds and sunlight streaming through the gaps in between the wood. I groggily got up and put on some clothes heading into the bathroom to splash my face and brush my teeth, after I had done that I went and grabbed an apple from the food area. I headed over to the doorway which had no door and picked up my gun as a just in case. I slipped it into the inside of my waistband at the back and made my way down the ladders I had scrappily made.
Once I was down I decided to go to the stream and properly wash my hair through, as I don't have anything else to do anymore it may waste some time. When I reached the stream I stripped down and got into the deepest area, as no one was around I had no concern at being naked in an open area. It took me about half an hour to wash my hair and find the effort to get out of the stream. Once I was out I sunbathed in an area that the sunlight reached to dry myself and then put my jeans, T shirt and leather jacket back on and then slipped my boots onto my feet.
I filled up my water container and walked back to my home, I had managed to waste nearly two hours at the stream so it was now mid morning and I had nothing to do. This was the difficulty of being alone I only had myself to look after and everything was sorted now so I had nothing else to build or to do. I was just carrying on with life but not actually living. Nothing had changed in the past two years, no one had come, there were no threats and I just had to eat and sleep. Life had gotten boring even if before it was bad to live in conditions like it was.
The bombs came quick and heavy on the first day, living in an urban area didn't help my safety whatsoever and all my family were in the area that was worst hit, the area where everyone who was there was guaranteed dead. I was never close to my family so when the fighting stopped I only grieved for a short while, it seems bad but really I was never important to them. My friends are more like family to me and I don't know where they are or if they're alive.
Once the bombs had dropped I ran for the woods as it seemed like a safer place to go than in the middle of all the buildings currently blowing up. Once I got into the trees I heard the gunshots start but what I didn't realise was that the gunshots were coming from all around me until a man darted out of no where going after someone. A gun was then dropped by my feet and I picked it up considering what was happening I needed all the protection I could find.
After that I climbed up into some random tree and hid up there as the fighting got worse and worse down below. I didn't know why this was all happening in the woods and not out in the open but I couldn't really find out with everything that was happening below me. Some time later the gunshots died down and I expected those few that had survived had run far away from here, or I hoped they had.
That was when I started moving the bodies, it was a horrible process but I couldn't just leave them all lying round to rot it's a horrible way to die. So that was what I did burnt them all, I guess it wasn't exactly like being buried but I couldn't bury that many people in the area I then decided to live in. After that I sat around waiting until I could no longer hear any screams or noises from the city and all was eerily quiet.
That night I made my way back into the city to find a warehouse with planks of wood that I could use to make a treehouse as I viewed that as a safer option than being on the ground. Obviously it would be harder to build but hopefully worth it by the end of it. Once I had found some wood I had to somehow get back to the area I planned to make my new sort of home. I couldn't use a car because all the power seemed to be drained from them even though electricity still seemed to flicker through the city around me. I grabbed one of those flat trolley things and piled it high with all the wood I would need and some rope and screws and one of those saw things.
