Meeting

Chapter 1:

 Meeting

"Hey! Fay! Are you listening to me?!" I hear a high piched squeal coming from the lips of one of my best friends, Lyla. I ignore her, like I usually do, and keep on gazing out the old, abandoned school window. It's 8:00 p.m. and I sick and tired of sitting on the rusty, old floor waiting for orders from teens my age! 

"Fay, answer Lyla. Your just making this meeting drag out longer and make it more tiresome. We need to make the groups for tonights patrol." I quickly shoot a glare at Jake and how he can just order me around like a dog. He just looks down and sighs. His blond hair is spiked nice and high. His eyes look a dark blue in the dark, but in the light they shine like the sun.

"Fay, is everything alright?" A delicate voice fills the room. I look up and stare into Sofia's soft, blue eyes. I look up to Sofia, I always have. She's like my older sister. When she fights she flows and looks stunning, and beautiful.  She makes it look like a dance, a dance in the moon's light. Her lovely black hair cascades over her shoulders, as she bends down to my level.

"Oh, ya, I'm fine, I'm just tired of sitting around." She gives me a big smile and says

"Oh good! I'm glad your fine!"

"I think it would be logical if we get going with this so called meeting. We're wasting time." Micheal says leaning against a wall in the corner of the room. You can only see the shine from his glasses, as he adjusts them. He's the smart one around here. He always stands in the corner claming it's more "intense". His bull cut, brown hair blends in with the shadows. He always sends shivers down my spine.

"I also think it's time to shut the bickering and cut to the chase." Jason demands, as his body slowly leaks out of the shadows. His dark brown eyes are mysterious yet gentle. I love the way he flips his black hair out of his eyes! I've had a crush on him ever since I woke up, from that frightful night, staring into the eyes of a knight. All I can remember from that night is a tall handsome boy standing above me. My knight and shinig armor. Ever since then I know Jason is the one. He who watched over me and protected me.

"Sir yes sir!" Lyla yells as she slaps her hands by her side and stands up nice and tall. I make a small giggle to the way Jason smirks and rolls his eyes.

"Thank you Lyla for your enthusiasm. Now, that everyone is settling down, I'd like to announce our groups for tonights patrol," please please be with Jason, please! "It will be Sofia, Micheal, and Lyla."

"Awww man! I'm with the dork!" Lyla says pouting as she plops down on her butt. I'm just excited to be with Jason!

"I'm not a dork! I'm just highly intelligent." Micheal says with disappointment in his voice.

"Ok, ok. The other group is of course me, Fay, and Jake. Now that's settled I'd like Sofia's group to go into town and patrol and my group will patrol in the woods. Got it?"

"Yes." Everyone says in unison.

"The Okamiyasha are very sly and strong. It seems they get stronger with the more people they devour. Don't let any lives be taken, got it?"

"Of course! That's our duty isn't it?!" Lyla exclaims.

"We ready to roll?" Jake asks about to walk out the door.

 "Hold it! Remember everyone, stay safe and have each others back and I want you all to come back to this room in one piece. No fooling around. Pay attention to your surroundings at all times. This town needs us we can't die. Understood?!" Every ones face goes absolutely serious. Everyone nods together. 

I can feel butterflies form in my stomach. I'm sure everyone feels the same I mean tonight could be our last night. It's always like this. We always have these meetings in the same place, at the same time, every night. When the clock strikes twelve the Okamiyasha come out and prey on human flesh. That's what we're here for. We prevent any innocent people from getting devoured by those monsters. 

We each have weapons we use to defeat the Okamiyasha. Jason uses knives, which he usually throws and hits vital areas in the Okamiyasha's body. Micheal uses bows and arrows, which gets the job done fairly well. I mean he's good at staying in the shadows and hitting them with a surprise attack. Sofia uses numchuks. She's really good with up close combat. She usually swings it so hard and with such speed it breaks the Okamiyasha's skull.

Jake uses two swords. He's very agile when he's fighting. His eyes never leave the enemy. He's constantly reading their every move, every sound. And when the times right, he attacks. He has great speed when he moves and his swords slice threw anything. Lyla uses her own fists and a knife. She's just as quick as Jason. She'll disappear and then reappear right behind you, then slice you through the throat.

I use two guns. Jason taught me how to defend and attack multiple ways. With swords, knives, bows and arrows, but I was always good at shooting a gun. I could hit the heart of a Okamiyasha in one shot. I'm not very agile like Jake and Lyla, but I can aim hella good when I want to. I'm like Micheal I mostly stay hidden in the shadows and help from a far. 

"Okay, tonight will be another victorious night!" Jason throws his fist in the air waiting for everyone to chime in.

"Yeah!" Everyone yells together and we throw our fists into the air.

"Alright! Lets roll!" Jason shouts as a smirk slides up his face. And quickly everyone is in their groups, out in the darkness, protecting people who are important to us.
