Apocalyptic Love

Chapter 2

We found Charles in his classroom that had just cleared out, he spun around and a wide grin appeared on his face when he saw Alex behind me. "Alex it's good to see you, you look well." Alex came over and gave Charles a long awaited hug, "You're not too bad yourself, this is my brother Scott." Alex grabbed his brother by the shoulders and brought him forwards "Welcome to the school for the gifted" Charles shook Scott's hand "Yeah it doesn't exactly feel like a gift." We all let out a light chuckle before Charles spoke again "It never does at first"

We all went out to the back of the mansion where there was a pond and most of the students were hanging out. I was walking beside Scott and Alex before I started to explain his situation "The first step to understanding ones power is learning the extent of it. Only then can we begin the process of helping you control it." I decided to stand back behind Scott and Charles next to Alex, Charles looked to Scott before speaking "If you do decide to stay, I can promise you that by the time you are done here you'll be able to go back into the world and play a stable productive partner. Why don't you take your bandages off and we can have a look at what we're dealing with here. Alex, would you line him up. Face him in the right direction if you will." Alex moved forward to line his brother up with an archery target just across the small pond, Alex and I then put our sunglasses on as he warned me about Scott's ability.
"There's a target just across the water. When you open your eyes,
try and hit that. You can open your eyes, Scott. There's nothing to be afraid of. It's quite..."

Upon Scott removing his blindfold and opening his eyes, two concussive beams shot out across the water demolishing the target and splitting a tree in two. I saw many students run away from the destruction as they thought they weren't far enough away as is. Everyone looked over the destruction as Scott put his blindfold back on Charles looked at everything in awe "My grandfather planted that tree when he was 5 years old. I used to swing from the branches myself. I think that was probably my favorite tree." I giggled as I could hear Scott's thoughts turning like wheels in his head, "Does this mean I'm expelled?" Charles laughed and smiled before turning to the boy "on the contrary you're enrolled."
