CHAPTER 4 ::
I'm running through the forest so fast it's even hard for me, a vampire, to see where I'm going. I have to pay attention to my surroundings, if not I will hit a tree for sure.
I ran so fast I could barely stop running when I saw in the middle of nowhere an enormous gate made of rocks. It was incredibly high and I couldn't see what was inside. I'm here! Sandro told me the school was old and it was build with rocks. This is it. My poor victim is behind this gate. He probably doesn't know vampires even exist, yet one is about to kill him.
I quickly put my stepdaughter's shoes on and walked towards the gate. It's even higher when I stood in front of it. The gate had giant door handles which I'm pretty sure that with my vampire strength I could open them with no problem but I'm pretending to be human. A little skinny girl like me can't possibly open this gate by herself.
I just stood in front of the door like an idiot for a couple of minutes thinking, how in the world I'm going to get in?
"Hello," I said in a small voice. No one answered. What is wrong with me? They are human and probably didn't hear me.
"Is this the Lunar School?" I said now screaming. Maybe my loud scream wasn't necessary but it worked. I'm hearing steps getting closer and closer to the entrance. The gate started to open I move back to get out of the way.
The gate opened completely by itself! I thought before seen a well-built man wearing a security uniform standing in the middle of the entrance holding a remote control in his hand. The man looked at me suspiciously as he walks very cautiously towards me.
I kept my head high pretending to be more confidence in myself that I really was. I stood with my hands glued to my side hoping he could get my not so true message: I mean no harm.
"What's your name and what do you want?" the security man asked with a serious tone. He was African-American in his late twenties and was tall as heck. I had to admit for a human he was a little intimidating.
"My name is Alondra Stevenson I'm ..." He cut me off.
"Oh, yeah! You're the new student. Come in. My name is Ed, it's nice to meet you little one," he gestures me to come in. How funny when he found out I'm the new student he was polite. Well somewhat polite the nickname he gave me was gross.
I did as he told me and when in without thinking. I don't know what it is but there is something about this school that's calling me in. I feel like...I want to be here. My heart started beating so fast it hurts. What's happening to me?
The gate closed behind me and I saw when the security guy called Ed hided the remote control in one of his front pockets. I don't get it! He's so over protective. Why? What is so important about a mere school in the middle of nowhere?
"Follow me to the main office you need the schedule of your classes," he told me and started walking turning his back on me. He's such an easy prey! Ed never turn your back to a vampire. Luckily for you I don't drink human blood. Not because I don't like it but because I like it too much. When I start drinking I just can't stop. I don't want to kill a human again.
I followed him close while looking at my surroundings. This place is freaking huge! Right now I'm walking on a trail made out of tinny fragments of rocks. There are trees everywhere but it doesn't surprise me after all we are in the middle of the forest. I can only imagine how this place looks during springs adorned with flowers and green grass. The buildings looks old and were also made out of rock. I wonder in what era they build this amazing school.
The place was remarkably quite even for me who have super hearing. I suppose students must be in class already. Ed abruptly stop and open a door for me I assume we arrived to the main office. I went in first.
