Young Love

The New Kid

               I looked behind me to see him catching up to me. He started walking behind me and slowed to my walking speed. "Hey. How are you?" He said. "Umm, good I guess... Who are you?" I asked. "Oh, I'm Chris. I moved here from New Jersey two months ago." "Oh...cool" I smiled.

            We quickly walked through the halls to our first hour class. We both checked our schedules, and of course, we had the same exact classes except for electives. Which were the last two classes of the day.

            Once I walked into class I told the teacher I was late because I was helping the new kid make it to class. She excused me and I sat down and started bell work.

            My schedule was First Hour-Math, Second Hour- Science, Third Hour- Spanish, Fourth Hour- Literacy, Fifth Hour- English, Sixth Hour- Social Studies, and Seventh Hour- Band. Every hour except for seventh, was with Chris. I really like him but I don't know if he likes me. Math was a real bummer because we had to do our Algebra 2 exams today.

           In Science, Chris and I sat next to each other so I could help him with his schedule. "Just follow me, until seventh hour. I will show you your class then." I whispered to him. "Okay, thanks." He whispered back. "Chris, and Alex, why are you talking?" Asked Mrs. Kingsley. "Sorry Mrs.Kingsley, Alex was just helping me with my schedule since I'm new around here." Chris said smirking at me. "Okay please talk after class instead of during next time." 

             The other five hours flew by, and Chris and I got on the bus together. He sat by me and I asked him, "Why did you stand up for me earlier in Science?" "Because Alex.... I really like you." He said nervously. "You- do?" I said slowly. "Yep, I didn't want to tell you yet because I wasn't sure you liked me back." He said. "Of course I do though. You are an amazing guy Chris. I love you." "I love you too Alex."
