Thinking of You

Windswept pages blow away the words,

Written in starlight on moonglow paper,

Washing away the dreams of yesterday,

Replaced with my long cherished hopes once again.

I thought I saw your face about a year ago,

That I glimpsed your spirit in those fervent writs,

But he proved to be false, a pretender to your place,

Not my White Knight, but a blood soaked assassin.

Many promises made and summarily broken

As dreams lay scattered like fallen leaves,

Shaken loose by the pained realization,

That I must keep waiting to find you, still.

I've glimpsed you afar as I drift in my dreams,

So far from the reach of my trembling hand.

Your face so gentle, strong and sincere,

Your arms are strong too, warm and secure.

I wonder if you dream of me, sharing my hopes?

Will I be your treasure as you are to me?

Two spirits, two lives, joined by the Divine,

Destined to walk life's journey together.

My arms often wonder how you'll feel in their clasp,

And my lips tremble at the mere thought of your kiss.

I hold on to the hope of finding you one day,

Between where I am and where I want to be.

Someday you'll see me, and our hands will touch,

As our kindred dreams grow into friendship,

Until they are kissed by Heaven's sweet breath,

And they bloom into the rose of our future together.
