Chapter 7: Dreams

-Cams POV

I jogged through the woods with Jason by my side, I spun around a couple times to see the amount of Z's following us. "We need to split!" He called, I looked at him. "Are you crazy?!" I spat at him, he panted heavily. "We'll both survive, don't worry." I let out a shaky nod and he ran uphill. I kept going forward running past the trees that surrounded me. While I was looking back I tripped on a root and fell down a hill. As I rolled down the hill the Z's either broke off or walked around. I clutched my stomach as it hurt from rolling down that hill. "Cam!" I looked over and saw him, he was running to me with full speed. "10K!" I yelled back, he crouched next to me and held me in his arms tightly. I held him back. "I thought you were dead!" He cried into the crook of my neck, I giggled. "I knew you'd survive." I stated, he pulled away and I wiped the tears from his eyes. He leaned in closer yet I had no idea what he was doing. Soon after his eyes kept traveling from my eyes to my lips, he crashed his lips into mine. His arms wrapped around my lower back, I hooked one arm around his neck. I kissed back, but I was confused. Why was he kissing me? He pulled away as did I and we were gasping for air. "Cam, I love you." He whispered, I giggled. I had no idea what to say back. I gave him and hug and he hugged back tightly then he became limp. I pulled away and saw something I never wanted to see, he lunged at me pinning me to the cold ground. I looked at his emotionless, white eyes. I placed my arm across the bottom of his neck. He snapped his once white teeth at me, I stared into his eyes. Eyes of a Z. "Your just like my dad. I wanted you back but this part of you." I murmured, he just continued to snap his rotting teeth at me. "Come back." I whispered. "Just stop!" I yelled at him, it didn't work, I flipped him over and pinned him to the ground. "Just come back, please." He just snapped at me, I slipped out his knife from his holster. "Bye..." I stabbed him, between the eyes, that just killed me. "7!" I turned and saw the group, I looked back at 10K then them. "What happened?" Doc asked, I sighed and laid the knife on 10K's chest. I stood and walked to him. "Had to mercy him." I murmured, Doc gave me a tight hug. "Cam!" I huffed and turned to see Jason jogging down the hill and run to me. "Wait, Cam? That's your name?" Garnett asked. "Way to go Jason." I sighed, 10K was dead, just after he told me that he loved me. "Just go away." I whispered and walked away, I looked at his body and turned away. "I just wish you stayed the same."

"Cam! Cam!" "Ahh!" I shot up drenched in sweat, Jason was shaking me. "Who do you want to come back?" He asked, I wiped my brow, I was on the verge of tears but none fell. "Who's 10K? Is that your team mate?" I nodded and he pulled me into a hug, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged tightly. "I miss him." I mumbled against his shoulder. "I miss the group to." I added, he rocked me back and forth and shhed me as I kept talking about them and why I miss them. He kissed my forehead in a brotherly way, turns out we were outside and the truck was parked. I laid on a blanket and the tears were stopped easily because I haven't cried in forever. "Want to go on a walk?" He asked, I nodded and he helped me up, he swung his arm around my shoulders. We started to walk down the road, leaving the truck behind but it basically didn't have any gas. We had all our stuff so we were fine with leaving it. "I'm sorry about what happened to your team mate, I've never seen you so close to someone before." I sighed. "It wasn't just him, I miss the whole group." We continued down the road and Jason decided to bring up our friends. "You think Adam and them are alive?" I let out a shaky breath. "I don't know, I don't think they've ever shot a gun in there life." I stated, we continued down the road. "Sing me a song." Jason pleaded, I looked at him. "Alright."
