Christian
When Hazel woke up, everyone booked it to her hospital bed the minute they heard she was alive and well.
I had to admit, for a second it hurt that James was the first person she saw when she woke up. But who was I kidding? Hazel an I were just best friends. I didn't wanna ruin that, so I let her go.
Of course I didn't like the thought of James having her, then again he was Hazel's first love and how could I compete with the guy? Even if he went to East High, I couldn't catch one bit of Hazel's attention.
I had yo hand it to her though. James was nice looking dude and Hazel was a sucker for blue eyes.
As long as Hazel was still in my life and happy, I wasn't going anywhere.

I didn't think I'd see the fay where Chris would have his eye on someone and just give up.
"I think it's time I move on from Hazel," Chris announced quietly.
I was very surprised when he actually decided to move on from the girl he fell in love with in middle school. It was for the best though and I was proud of him for making a smart decision for once. Everyone knew he wasn't the most well rounded kid when it came to choosing girls.
But everyone also knew it was the best thing to do after everything that happened between them. It was the right thing to do, actually. And with Chris and Hazel sorted out, our trio could go back to normal and we wouldn't be split up.
We're a team and, as cheesy as it is, nothing could break us apart.
Riley
I hadn't seen my sister as happy as she was in so so long.
At first I thought bringing James and Vanessa back to our house to work on the school project was a bad idea, but for some reason, James had insisted. And when Hazel walked through out front door, I knew exactly why my best friend was so persistent: he wanted an excuse to see our little Hazel Diane.
You'd think that after being friends for so long, I would know his intentions before doing anything. I guess Vanessa and I were actually outsmarted by East High School's #1 soccer player.
After our school project was turned in, James had found any free moment he had to spend with Hazel.
Oh, my dearest Hazel, you've got him so whipped.
James
Hazel this, Hazel that.
That's what was going through my mind.
After my group project with Riley and Vanessa, and the accident, I found myself craving more and more of Hazel's presence. God only know's how happy I was when Vanessa and Riley were convinced to work on the project at the Marks' place. That was my excuse to see my Hazel Diane after, what, 5 years?
Hazel was just so addicting to have around. Her smile lit up the whole room , it was contagious.
I noticed myself becoming more and more attached to Hazel every time I saw her and I could honestly say I was much happier with her back in my life.
Damn, I'm so whipped.
