"Boys of Summer?" I asked.

"Yeah. That tour for YouNow boys over the summer. I'm on the list to go!"

"Oh, that's great." I said sarcastically.

"What is it babe? Tell me."

"It's just this year is our one year anniversary and your birthday. I don't want to spend them alone."

"Awe babe. I'll work something out. I promise." Then he kissed me on the forehead.

We drove to his house. I've been spending a lot of time there. We are graduating this year and need to pick a college. I'm hoping we can go to the same one, and share an apartment.

I've been having my eyes on Harvard or Yale my whole life. But I live in Ohio, and we don't have a lot of money so state colleges would probably work best. I've already got a 20,000 dollar scholarship to Ohio University. I'm thinking about applying there.

I have back-ups too. Like the big Ohio State, but that schools just too big. Or the one down in Columbus, Wittenberg. I have a lot of options, just maybe not the ones I'd hoped.

We eventually made it to his home. I practically live there now. My mom has been working full time and my Robert is never there. I don't really feel like moving in with my real dad in West Virginia. So I "live" with Nathan.

His mom is kind enough to put an air mattress in his room for me to sleep on, but we all know we both sleep together. We walked inside hand in hand to see his mom cutting carrots for the stew she was cooking.

"Hello dear!" And she gave me a hug.

"Hello Lynn," his mom and I are on first name basis.

"And how's my baby?" And she gave Nathan a big kiss on the check."

"Mom!" Nathan growled. I let out a light laugh.

We headed up to his room until dinner was ready. I sat down on his bed.

"So. When would you leave?"

"I don't know. Maybe a month?"

"Nathan, it's June 29th."

"Oh. Than maybe a few weeks."

"I was hoping to spend my summer with you!" I protested.

"Don't worry. I told you I would work it out." And then his mom called us to dinner.
