Niall's P.O.V.
"Happy anniversary, Harry!" I came up behind my boyfriend, wrapping my arms around his waist and planting a kiss on his cheek.
Harry turned around so that my lips landed on his and we kissed. It was a sweet kiss, but when he tried to deepen it, I pulled away.
"What's wrong, Nialler?" Harry asked.
"I'm hungry, Haz!"
Harry chuckled. "When are you not?"
I pretended to think about it. "Never."
"Well lucky for you, I made bacon and chocolate chip waffles in honor of our anniversary."
"What would I do without you, Hazza?"
"Die of starvation, probably.
Harry heaped bacon and waffles on a plate and handed it to me.
"I love you, Haz. I mumbled with my mouth full.
"What was that?" Harry teased.
"I LOVE YOU HARRY EDWARD STYLES!" I yelled.
"Aw, I love you too, Nialler." Harry ruffled my hair before sitting down across from me at the table.
I grinned at him, enjoying the pure simplicity of the moment.
Some people might take this moment as just an ordinary morning, but to me it was so much more. I still couldn't believe I finally had Harry, and he loved me too.
Just a year ago, we were ststruggling to hide our relationship from the public while we tried to convince management to let us come out as a couple. It finally ended when Harry decided not to let management rule our lives. We had told them that if they didn't agree with our relationship then we would quit the band. Without us and Zayn, there would be no One Direction. Management knew that, so they had no choice but to accept that Harry and I were an item, and always would be. Now we shared a flat and life with him couldn't get better.
"Niall?" Harry asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"What?"
"Are you okay? You haven't touched your food for a whole minute."
"Oh yeah. I was just thinking how amazing it is that just one year ago, this was all a dream."
Harry smiled softly, his dimples making my heart melt like they always did. "It's a dream come true." He leaned across the table and gave me a small peck on the lips.
"Harry?" I asked.
"Yes, Nialler?"
"Do you ever regret this?"
"What do you mean?" Harry's brows wrinkled in confusion.
"I mean we lost some fans and popularity because of announcing our relationship."
"And?" Harry prompted.
"And I geuss I feel bad for taking all that away from you." I looked down and started playing with my napkin, unable to meet Harry's eyes.
Harry put a finger under my chin, gently forcing me to meet his eyes.
"Niall listen to me." He said gently.
"If I had cared about losing fans or popularity, I wouldn't have asked you to be my boyfriend. But I never cared about that kind of superficial stuff, and you know that. The only thing, or should I say person, I really care about is you. Don't ever feel bad for taking anything away, because you gave me the world."
I smiled, my eyes tearing up with happiness at Harry's little speech. I didn't know what to say, so I stood up and kissed Harry. I used my lips to show my feelings. He responded with equal passion.
Everything is perfect. I thought when we finally broke apart.

A while later, we finally went back to eating. I happened to glance out the window as I ate.
A family was walking past. The parents were holding hands with a little girl who was tottering between them. They all looked so happy. The parents were watching the kid with adoring eyes while they chartered and laughed.
"Gosh, you're sure thoughtful today." Harry's voice snapped me out of my thoughts for the second time today. I realized I was staring wistfully out the window. "Do you have something against my cooking?"
"Nope." I popped the p. "I love your cooking, Haz."
I went back to shoveling down food, but I couldn't shake a sudden feeling of longing in my chest.
Things would be perfect, if only... I pushed the thought out of my head.
Stop it, Niall. It's too soon for a family, and anyway, you've got Harry. What more could you want?
