Chapter 3- Baby steps

Where'd she go???

I looked at my side finding only an empty seat.Maybe she got so out of place that she left, or maybe she got angry at me for harassing her? but I didn't....

"Hey you scared her away!!" Arthur said blaming me for the disappearing girl.

"Not my fault. You guys bursted here so suddenly. It's only natural she'd get scared by the likes of you." I murmured to myself while Arthur scratches his head wondering what I was saying.

"Anyways, I am gonna go find her, so catch ya later!" I gave them a sincere playful smile whilst I make my escape.

I wonder where she could've gone and why she needed to leave. I mean it's not like I'm close to her or anything for me to even look for her. I don't even know why I'm looking for her. Nah, I better just cut the chase and get back to class. It's not like she needs to be found. Is this what they call "love at first sight"? Man, what the hell am I thinking? I am not into this love bullcrap. Alright, Thor keep your stupid head together. It's not like--

"Uhm Thor?" A sweet voice cuts through my train of thoughts. I blink and snap back into reality.

"Oh heey! I was just looking for you. Sorry if my friends back there scared ya, I'll be sure to give them punches later." I say while making the biggest smile I could.

"Oh no no! It wasn't them, I just needed to find the bathroom so I went and left."

I actually feel like an idiot, thinking she was in some kind of danger. I was just too paranoid I guess and a little crazy to think of such outcomes. Watching too much action movies can really make a big effect on me. Especially all that kidnapp and stuff.

"Want to get some coffee later?" I suddenly blurted out. What the hell am I saying?

"Oh, well yeah sure!" She responds happily. I can feel my stomache going all loopsy in those words. I can't express how happy I am.

"That's great, I'll meet you up later at three o'clock in the canteen!"

I can't believe what I just did. How in the name of. Wow, I actually felt brave for asking her out for some drinks. My whole body was heating up from all that excitement and nervousness. This is the first time I've invited someone like that. The question is, Why did I invite her for coffee? What if she doesn't like it? What if she hated it? It could've been--

" Yo thor! Where were yoou?" Another voice interrupts all my queued questions. All the anxiousness suddenly flew away from me and I shake my head to regain myself.

I felt Arthur's arm slung around my shoulder as he stood beside me. After that, I received a slap on the back of my head.

"Ow! What the heck was that for?" I say as I slowly rub the back of my head where the pain is.

" It was for creeping her out. You pervert!" May says as she shot me an I-will-kill-you-later glare. It wasn't my fault and wait, how did I become a pervert?

"I didn't--"

" Yes, you did. Before that, we need proper intros for our new student right here." She cuts me off while she she gives a welcoming smile to Athena. It was then that I realized she was giggling at us. Oh God. Athena's smile really made my day. I don't even know why. She has this smile that's as bright as the sun.

I didn't know I was staring at her like a love-struck teenager. I quickly blink a couple of times and I look away hiding the heat from my cheeks. I guess Arthur saw that because he gave me a teasing smile. He was always up to something when that evil devilish smile appeared.

"Alright, I'll start first. I am Maddy Rosaline, but you could just call me May." She reaches out her hand signaling for a formal handshake. Athena grabs her hand and shakes it as they both smile at each other. " And this thing here--"

" Woah wait wait." He pauses as he lifts his hand for a stop signal. "First of all, I am not a thing. Second, I give my own awesome intro." He pulls back his arm and gives an old fashioned polite bow. Wow, he's a gentleman now?

" Bonjour, Madame Athena. I am Prince Arthur, the soon-to-be King of Camelot!" He gestures for her hand. And as she places her hand on his palm, he leans his head down and plans to kiss her hand. But before that happened, I lightly smacked his head. An odd uneasy feeling crept through me and I gave him a face.

" What was that for? You interrup--" May pulled his hand away and gave him the same glare she gave to me.

" Alright enough of your weirdness. So, uh, Athena, this idiot right here is Arthur Peddly." She points to Arthur and he gives her a grinning smile. We hear Athena giggling again. I turn to look away again because of all the stupid girly blushing. "I've been friends with Thor for 4 years and Arthur for 2 years. We've been the best of friends in all those years even if these dimwits have been back from the mental over and over."

"Hey! We haven't even been in--" Poor Arthur got cut off again.

" As I was saying, if ever these two would do anything bad or weird or even perverted to you, make sure to tell me. I will be glad to give them warnings!" Me and Arthur swallowed the lumps in our throats thinking of what scary "warnings" she usually gives. There was one time, when Arthur pulled a prank on her, she would bring scissors and give off an evil smile while mouthing the words "I will cute THOSE off!". After that warning, we swore we would never do crazy things again. But, knowing us, theres nothing she can do about our craziness. It's our human nature. Of course, we would just do our best not to get caught in all crimes we do.

" Oh no. I can't lose them. I need to have children! What will--"

" Oh just shush. So you've been silent for a while Thor, and when you're silent, you're nervous." May raises both her eyebows at me and does it repeatedly. Oh man, I don't like where this is going.

"I-I am not." I stammered. I hate it when she's right. Why'd she move the topic to me??

"It's really nice knowing you guys." Athena says as she smiles giving away her small dimples. " I hope we get along, but, uh, before that, can you guys tell me where the bathroom is?"
