Chapter-One

Chapter-One.

Rosy and Steve were waiting outside Glasgow airport for May to pick them up. The frost had frozen almost every single sheet of glass in the city. Steve and Rosy aren't used to minus degrees like this as they stayed in Miami for 10 years. But Rosy and May had been best friends since they were young, so they were both excited to be spending the Christmas holiday together. When May arrived they pilled their suitcases into the boot of the car before taking off.

"Aww May its so good to see you again!" Rosy said hugging May.

"Nice to meet you" May said shaking Steve's hand.

"It's freezing out here" Rosy laughed.

"Yup that's Scotland for you" May replied.

They all went in the car, prepared and ready to take off.

"So what about the others?" Rosy asked.

"Meeting them at the lodge, I'm so glad we're all reuniting for Christmas, we haven't done it for years" May said smiling.

"Yeah, me too, Miami isn't much of a Christmassy place" Rosy said.

"So how was the flight?" May asked.

"Ok, but shattered, it was to crowded" Steve said.

"Yeah far to crowded, we thought it would be to busy because obviously it's near Christmas, but just shows how popular Scotland is during winter." Rosy said laughing.

May tried to stay focused on the icy roads, the snow started heavily. They all spoke about things and how thy missed out, it was a sad conversation, May seemed to always be alone, she was the only one out of all her 6 best friends who stayed in Scotland. As they all went their separate ways.

"Okay I'll need to stop by for petrol soon, theirs a station along the road." May said pulling her purse from her denims pocket.

"That's fine"Rosy said pulling herself a fag from the packet. The lighter then followed.

"Ohhh waaaa, when did you start" May said laughing.

"2 or 3 years ago, this one got me on them with the stress" Rosy said patting Steve's shoulder as they all laughed.

May then pulled over at the gas station. She stepped out and went into the store. When she came back out she filled the car. Steve looked out the window, it was full of snowy trees on each side, it looked that way for anther while, the roads were filled with zooming cars out late Christmas shopping probably.

"What's up with you anyway" Rosy asked Steve.

"Nothing, just admiring the place" Steve said.

"Yeah it's really beautiful for someone who never fancied Scotland" Rosy said throwing her fag doubt out the window.

When Rosy went to Miami for a holiday she met Steve and they both got married quickly, and a while after Rosy decided to stay there.

May stepped in the car chittering.

"How long now?" Steve asked.

"Roughly 10 minutes, it's not far from here" May said starting up the car.

When the drove along the busy roads they all chatted about funny moments. They all sat laughing for ages. When May went to turn her head around.

"MAY WATCH DEER" Rosy screamed pointing towards the deer who May almost killed.

May took a deep breath as the thing ran off. They ended up laughing about that for ages. The car turned to a quieter road, no buildings or houses insight, but Steve and Rosy could see the lodge up ahead and the others gathered outside it.

"There they are" Rosy said clapping her hands and smiling widely.

The car stopped outside the beautiful lodge, it was amazing and a fair size. Double glass doors through the doors were a huge wooden stair case and a chandler. When they got outside they car they all shook hands and introduced themselves and some reunite with each other. May suddenly didn't feel alone, but instead felt a rush of excitement, they all got their suitcases in, once May got the keys out an opened her lodge. All 7 of them walked in with a shocked smile on their faces. It was beautiful inside also, full of Scottish pictures and lakes. The walls were all a cream colour with a brown boarder it was stunning. For once May felt a feeling of accomplishment. She showed them the living room. It had a huge flat screen TV and comfy leather brown sofas, and a fluffy brown rug. It had a dinning room with a huge brown wooden table and 8 chairs. There was 2 bathrooms one on the main floor and one on the second floor. It had 5 bedrooms so there was enough for everyone. They all picked their rooms and met May back in the living room. Steve and Rosy were first down, then Antony and Skye and then Frank and Jessy. They all gathered round each of them talking to one and other.

"I'll get the wine" Rosy said laughing entering the kitchen. As she stepped in to the kitchen, she seen the fridge at the end near the back door. She looked out the back, it had a nice garden with load of plants which were covered with snow. She opened the fridge door it was full with food as drink. As she reached for the wine, the phone went. She looked over to a phone lighting up red. She walked towards it and answered it.

"Hello?" Rosy said in a registered voice.

"Fear is watching" a faint voice answered.

She hung the phone up and collected the wine, re-entering the living room. Her ears were filled with laughter as all the moments that were forgotten about were brought back up.

"I remember May battered Rosy when the had a falling out when we were like 10" Skye said laughing.

Everyone laughed as Rosy's face went slightly red. She poured everyone a glass of wine and put on some Christmas songs. They all danced and laughed enjoying themselves.

The sun was now gone. Most of them were drunk and blubbering a lot of rubbish, Rosy and Steve still slightly sober decided to go to bed.
