Scene: At Java Jones
"So me & Zay's official baseball training starts this Monday. Excited but I still don't understand how Zay is better at it than me. I mean it's Zay" said Lucas
"Should I feel offended?" Replied Zay
"Lucas You might get hurt" Riley asked
"Riles, he rode a bull" said Farkle
Riley pauses for a moment before saying, "True"
Lucas sad before realizing how that sounded "Besides I'm just hitting balls," "Okay that did not come out how I intended for it to be said"
Zay gives Lucas 'your crush comes into the room' look.
Meanwhile, Maya hasn't said anything ever since they got there. Barely touching her food even. Just moving the scrambled egg back and forth on her plate. Maya's mind was messed up. Her thoughts were even more tangled than her earphones. All she could ever think of was what Riley felt.
"Maybe it's for the best. I'll be alright. I could deal with the heartbreak my dad left me, I'm used to it— the boys I love, leaving me." Thought Maya
"Maya?"
Maya still lost in her thoughts
"Maya!" Shouted lucas, shaking Maya's arm a little
Maya jolted out of her thoughts.
"Yeah?" Replied Maya, moving Lucas hand off her arm
Lucas confused with Maya's gesture
"Is everything okay? You seemed," Lucas pauses for a while "out of place"
"Maya you've been in your own world since I went into the bathroom to take a shower. What's on your mind?"
"Nothing, I'm fine. I just need some air that's all. I'll be out for awhile, to clear my mind for a little bit"
"If that helps to bring our Maya back" said Lucas
Maya smiled weakly at her friends & got up to leave. Back to being lost in her own thoughts. Maya headed for the door, oblivious to her surroundings.
"Umph" Maya let out a little cry before apologizing to the person she bumped into "I'm so-"
That's when she realized who she bumped into— Uncle boing
"J-josh? What are you doing here?" Said maya, leaving her mouth hanging a little open, obviously speechless at the tall, fit man standing in front of her.
