Me and Felix sat on the roof playing 21 questions.
F- "Favorite color?"
A- "Seriously? That's the best you could come up with? And I can never pick a color, I like black a lot though. You?"
F- "Black, aha. I like burgundy and darker shades of blue a lot and black is also one of my favorites. Your turn."
A- "Favorite cuisine?"
F-"Chinese, you?"
A-"Indian all the way but I do love a bit of Chinese and Italian at times, your turn."
F-"Favorite song at the moment?"
A-"You got me addicted to Cheap Thrills hahaha. You?"
F-"Same, you got a boyfriend?."
A-"That was out of turn! And to answer your question, nope, and never had. You?"
F-"I had a girlfriend back in high school but then she broke up with me for some other guy and I really liked her. Since then, I don't believe in these things. They basically fuck you up."
A-" True. I just had a crush when I was younger but there is no point to these things, you are so right. Anyway, do you have a brother or a sister?"
F-"Yes, an elder brother Marcus. He helps my dad with business work. In other words, he is the "Perfect Son", you?"
A-" Well, I have a younger sister Nupur, being the younger one obviously she is mom's darling."
F-" You think younger ones have an advantage? lol you're wrong."
A-" I don't know. Maybe I feel this way and it may not be the same for you."
F-"Yeah, maybe. Anywhoooo, what is your part-time hobby kinda thing?"
A-"Well, I like cooking, I love writing a lot, it makes me feel lighter and happier and also I'm decent at sketching. You?"
F-"Whoa, you're an all rounder hahaha. I draw and I like going to new places and exploring."
A-"Wanderlust, I see. Show me some of your drawings!?"
F-"Wait." he said as he ran down back to the room.
It was getting dark. I opened up a mat and lay it on the ground, Felix came back with a book in his hands. He proudly sat down next to me and showed me his artwork. My eyes grew bigger with every page he flipped.
A-"What the fuck Felix, these are beautiful. Why did you even take up business? You draw so well!"
F-"Well, I didn't want to take up business but then my dad forced me. Marcus is doing the same so even I am supposed to follow him. I always loved art, I just was never allowed to take it. You're lucky your parents let you take literature Al."
A-"Mom, not parents. I just have my mom." I said as I looked down.
F-" I'm so sorry Al, I didn't mean to."
A-"It's okay, it doesn't affect me that much anymore. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your mom?"
F-" Umm, well she had a terminal disease. She died when I was 11."
A-" I'm sorry sweetheart." I said rubbing his back.
F-"What about your dad?"
A-"Uhhh, he died when I was 2."
F-"How?"
A-"Well, he had bone marrow cancer."
F-" I'm sorry Al, I'm sure wherever he is, he is super proud of the wonderful woman you have grown up to be." he said.
A-"Same. Although, your mom would have definitely loved it if you pursued your dreams."
F-" We can't help some things Aaliya. We gotta accept them the way they are." he said.
A-"Will it be weird if I hug you?"
F-"Seriously? We Britishers can always use a hug hahaha." he said as he hugged me.
I hugged him tightly as my eyes started watering. I let go and quickly wiped my eyes.
"Don't cry Al. It's going to be okay. I promise", Felix said.
I nodded. "I have something which is perfect for this moment. Wanna try?"Felix said.
"I'm not having alcohol Felix", I said as I gave him a dirty look.
"Arghh, why not?", Felix questioned.
"Just, not now. I'll have it with you when I'm ready. I promise", I smiled and replied.
"Gosh it sounds like we're planning to have a baby hahaha", Felix laughed and said.
I nudged him as I grew red. "I have one last question. What turns you on?",Felix asked.
"That's a tough one. Well, let's see hot body obviously. Good manners, duh. The thing which turns me on the most is....*drumrolls please* a British accent", I said with a grin.
"WHAT", Felix exclaimed.
"Now don't think that you turn me on or anything please", I said while laughing.
Felix started poking my arm, "So basically you're saying that I turn you on?"
"NO. OHMYGOD THIS WAS A MISTAKE, YOU LITTLE BITCH", I screamed as I burst into laughter.
We sat there on the rooftop under the stars laughing like idiots. I felt happy after a very long time, I guess I had finally found a friend in this new place.
