"Let's share a round of drinks, on me, yeah? Cecelia asks, most likely because my attention is directed towards the bar.
I look down the bar and see Marcus socializing with the busty waitress, though I bring my attention back to Cece and Ginny. "Yes, please." I watch as Cece stands and walks over to the bar, happening to take a seat right next to Zayn.
"Is that the psycho from physics?" Ginny see's directly through me and to the bottle blonde.
I bite my tongue, and turn to face her once again, "I guess it is, what a coincidence." I manage a small smile. I shouldn't be annoyed that Zayn's with, what's her name, Amy? She's probably just some slut who sleeps around. I have a boyfriend, or at least a boy I can practically consider a boyfriend, anyway. As long as Amy stays away from Marcus it'll be fine. She can leave her drool all over Zayn.
Cece comes back with a waiter right behind her, unfortunately not the waitress Marcus is currently chatting up.
He sits down a platter with six, tall glasses filled to the brim with beer, and in haste, I lift a glass to my lips to gulp down a quarter of the alcohol before the waiter could make it back to the bar. "Is that Zayn she's with?" Ginny asks, unknowing of Cece's knowledge.
Cece's eyes go wide, and she beams past me to take a look. I swig down another quarter and reply to Ginny, "Yeah. So tell us about how you and Sandy met?" I say in a desperate attempt to move the attention off Zayn.
She starts off her tale of romance that is way too predictable, of how they met at a bar, much like this one, where Sandys band had a gig. My attention span is short with it, I feel like she is repeating things over and over. I excuse myself after I take down what's left in the glass. I stand and march directly Marcus's way, where he is still hovering over the plastic waitress. I sneak my arm around his waist mentioning to the waitress, "A round of alt beer."
"May I see your ID?" she remarks, clearly annoyed of my interruption.
I laugh, "Why don't you just look at my boyfriends, yeah babe?" I look up to him as he looks down on me, I smack my lips against his, reclaiming him as mine. I pull apart from him and watch as the waitress follows my command. I take Marcus by his hand and take him back to the table. Ginny is no where in sight when we return though Harvey and Cece are conversing. I take a sit and grip on to another glass. I look over my shoulder once more, Zayn is still there, now taking shots of whiskey without a whore draped on him.
Marcus interrupts my thoughts, "That was immature of you."
I laugh, "Right? We're on a date and you're over with a waitress. But that's nothing new, yeah?"
"So it's okay for you to be seeing other people but I can't chat up a waitress?" Now he's acting as if he was 10 year old with a temper tantrum.
"Well what's the difference?" I mumble. I knew sooner or later it would've been brought into a conversation, I was hoping it wouldn't have been this way however.
I focus in on the conversation of outcasts, drop outs, and their own friends. I don't have anything to add because most of the people they talked about were all upcoming graduates. I just turn my head to lay my eyes on Ginny, and a boy who must've been Sandy. He was attractive, but then again every boy she ever dated had been. He has his arm resting on the small of her back, she is leaning against the railing while looking Sandys way, laughing. They take endearing glares into each other's eyes, my heart melts. I look down and take Marcus's hand, starting to trace circles on top with my thumb. Then I feel comfort in his presence, all my anger is lost. I apologize to him so quietly that only he can hear, "I'm sorry Marcus, I've had other things on my mind. I appreciate you spending tonight with me instead of your rugby mates. You know how bad I get when I'm not in control."
He doesn't break conversation with Cece and Harvey, instead he tightens his grip on my hand. Marcus had never been sentimental nor emotional, not even when we were alone unless he had really screwed something over, an example being the other night.
I continue gulping the drinks that are placed in front of me until I feel the alcohol coursing through me. "I'll be right back, Cece will you come to the powder room with me?"
She excuses herself and we walk towards the end of the bar to the restrooms, "Are you okay?"
I nod, turn the corner and bump into someone. "Sorry," I mumble.
"Jenna, what are you doing here?" They spit back at me, rudely. I look up and make eye contact with Zayn, he breaks it, then pushes me aside without thought.
