Waking up, I glanced at the clock mounted on the wall. 8:07 PM. My parents should be back from work and we should be eating dinner right now. Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I got up and went downstairs, joining my parents for a macaroni and cheese dinner. "How was your day?" Mum asked, as she scooped the macaroni onto her plate. "It was awesome! Remember I told you that Tokio Hotel were having a signing session at the mall today? Well, I went and it was great! They were so nice!" I enthused, with a huge grin on my face. "That's great, honey!" Dad said, then he abruptly changed the subject to the stock market. He works as a businessman, so he's obsessed with these kinda things.

Bored, I finished my dinner, washed my plate, and made my way back to my room. As I lay in bed, I stared out the window. There were hardly any stars out, but there were a few shining faintly. I stared at them for a few minutes, when something caught my eye. A shooting star! Aren't we supposed to make a wish when we see one? Well, I know this sounds really childish, but I did. I closed my eyes tight and wished with all my heart to be Bill's... best friend. I decided against being his girlfriend even though I really wanted to, because being his girlfriend could have a painful ending. I wished, and wished, and wished, until I couldn't wish anymore, and the shooting was probably long gone already, and I fell asleep.

Waking up with the sun shining brightly through the window, I stretched and sauntered slowly to the bathroom. After showering, I got dressed. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Sighing, I was about to get the door when I heard my mum shouting "I got it!". I could hear the front door opening, then voices, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. Then there were footsteps on the staircase. And my doorknob turned. I was expecting my mum to be on the other side. But it wasn't mum. It was Bill.
