Childhood Memories (Rin Matsuoka)

Finally Here

"Finally!" Kou commented as she opened to door to me at 8:30.

"Sorry" Rin smirked as he'd walked me there "we were uh, studying, so much... and lost track of time"

"That's alright!" Kou smiled, totally oblivious.

"I'll see you later, Rozu" Rin said with a smile to me and he walked back in the direction of Samezuka.

"That was nice of him to walk you" she smiled "I can take your jacket"

"Thanks Kou" I said and shrugged off my jacket and scarf. Her eyes widened as they fell on my neck and I stiffened when I realised Rin had just left a huge bruise on my skin.

"IS THAT A HICKEY?!" she squealed dropping my coat to be a better look.

"Its nothing!" I said, jumping away

"What are you yelling about, Gou-chan?" Nagisa asked bounding in "oh my god Rozu, did someone punch you?!"

"Its a love bite Nagisa!" Kou squealed "Rozu must have a boyfriend!!"

"Are you guys alright in here?" Makoto asked,walking into the hall followed by Rei and Haru and I groaned, pulling the neck line of my shirt up.

"Rozu has a boyfriend!" Nagisa squealed, grabbing my hands and bouncing in front of me.

"Its no one" I blushed under there stares

"You didn't suck on your own neck!" Kou giggled

"What?" Makoto said a little sternly

"Nothing!" I snapped, shooting Kou a death stare.

"Tell us Rozu-chan!" Nagisa grinned

"Fine" I said shortly "yes I have been dating someone and no-" I shushed Nagisa "you can't know who he is!" I practically yelled. Nagisa looked a little upset I'd raised my voice but I couldn't take it back now. There was a couple seconds of thick quiet.

"Come on" Haru said, breaking the awkward silence "I'm hungry"

"Let's eat!" Rei added with a smile, dropping his hand to my shoulder and giving it a squeeze. I looked at him and Haru with a thankful look. Rei smiled reassuringly at me.

"Y-yeah" I said quietly and followed them. They chatted away but I could tell they were being wary of me as I ate in silence- just wanting to go home. I didn't make eye contact with Makoto once, I knew he was staring at me. I sighed and took my plate into the kitchen, I felt someone follow me and when I turned around I saw it was Nagisa. He closed the kitchen door behind him.

"I-I'm sorry, Rozu-chan" he said, looking at the floor

"No, Nagisa" I sighed, I lifted his chin so he'd look me in the eyes "I'm sorry I yelled"

"I went to far" he said, I shook my head.

"You were just being a friend" I smiled at him "I'm just, I wasn't ready for everyone to know about my relationship yet, its quite new"

He nodded "I'm sorry, I should of waited" he cracked a smile "so do you really like this guy?"

"Yeah, I do" I chuckled

"Will I get to meet him sometime?" He asked. You already have.

"Of course, Nagisa-kun" I said

I snuggled into a blanket with Nagisa when we returned as Kou put on a horror movie. I mostly hid behind the blanket - or Nagisa - at every jump scare but all in all it wasn't that scary of a movie. Half way through Makoto got up and left the room without a word, I frowned as the door shut softy behind him.

"I better go check if he's okay" I said to Nagisa who was fixated on the TV. I stood up and followed Makoto out the door, he was sitting on Kou's front steps. I closed the door softly behind me.

"Is something wrong, Mako-chan?" I asked

"Nothing" he replied

"I know when your lying" I sighed "what's wrong?"

"You can't talk about lying" he snapped and I felt my heart crack. I puffed a sigh and opened the door again.

"Rozu, wait..." he said, I turned and he sighed "I'm sorry" I closed the door again and sat down next to him.

"So what's up?" I asked

He looked at me with those damn sad, green eyes "I feel like you're slipping away"

"What are you talking about?" I frowned

"Its just recently you've been out a lot and lying about where you were - trust me I know when you're lying - and you're snapping at me and I just" he sighed "and now with this whole boyfriend thing that you didn't tell me about..."

"I'm sorry" I sighed "I just didn't want people to know, if it didn't work out then it would be no harm no foul right?"

"You know you can tell me anything?" He said, I cracked a weak smile and dropped my head on to his shoulder

"I know"

"And I know that you'll tell me about this boy when your ready" he said, leaning his cheek against my hair "just make sure he knows if he hurts you then I'll break his face" Makoto joked, which didn't help but still made me laugh.

"I'll tell him" I nodded as we sat in the darkness.

"I'm sorry that happened, Rozu" Rin said down the phone and I shook my head.

"Its not your fault" I sighed, I'd just told him what happened at Kou's when he did his usual and called me the next day before bed. I clutched Matsa, the plush shark, to my chest.

"We should tell them" Rin stated

"A-are you sure?" I said, surprised.

"Yes" he said "I mean, I'm serious about you and I know that you've hated having to lie to Makoto"

"You're so amazing" I smiled

"Shut up" he said fondly and I could tell he was blushing "are you still coming over in the morning?"

"I wouldn't miss it" I said happily, he'd invited me over to his dorm to just be together for a whole day, uninterrupted. Which I was majorly looking forward to "I'll come straight from Iwatobi's practice" I heard Rin's soft chuckle from the other side of the phone, then Sousuke's voice.

"Oi, Rin, it's getting late" he said

"I better go" Rin sighed

"Okay" I replied "Good night Rin"

"Night, Rozu" he said happily and the line went dead. I rolled over, hugging Rin and went to sleep.
