They're all around me. The alien faces and the alien bodies and the alien stares. I vaguely remember climbing into the tunnel. What everything used to look like. I remember seeing their smiles and the brightness at the exit, which couldn't compare to the brightness inside. We laughed and walked slowly, not even wanting to reach the end. I remember when they started to change. When my friends became unrecognizable. Now they swarm around me, making the tunnel darker. I needed to reach the light at the end. But its not there. The beings block my view. They're hostile. Best not to look straight at them, not to run, best not to look for a way out. Then they would notice me. I don't know if I've been turned around in the endless chaos. If the brightness even still exists. If I want to reach it. I can't remember what it was like before the tunnel, only that I walked in, what if this is better than what I have ahead? What if I really am the only one left? How do I know I'm not the same as these aliens, aimlessly searching in the darkness, searching for something that isn't there?
