{Chapter 17}
| Annabelle |
“Stop it,” I squirmed in his embrace, trying to distant his lips from my ear. “I’m going to hit you, Cody.” He threw his head back, letting a laugh escape his mouth. “I’m serious.”
“Then why are you smiling?” He grinned, tightly wrapping his arms around my shoulder pulling me down to the couch.
I felt the corner of my lips twitch the slightest. “Your sister can walk in any minute.”
He frowned. “You’re ruining the moment.”
“You’re the one who agreed to keep this relationship a secret,” I stated grumpily.
“I haven’t exactly asked you to be my girlfriend, Princess.” He smirked, quickly pecking my cheek. Instead of giving him the contentment of me flushing with beyond humiliation, I simpered, grabbing his hands and detaching them from around me.
“That’s right. I’m not your girlfriend, which means that you can’t kiss me,” I smirked proudly.
“Get back here, Annabelle.” He scolded, roughly taking a hold of my wrist.
I pulled away, beaming at him. “Nah, I think I’m a find myself a boyfriend at the park. There is this one with the cute red varsity jacket that’s always playing football.” I teased, tapping my finger on my chin.
“That guys a jackass.”
“Or better yet, why don’t I call Trent. I haven’t talked to him since the party.”
“Annabelle,” he deeply said, his accent getting the best of me.
“Oh, how about Jeremiah, after all he is my boyfriend-“
With a swift tug on my shirt, he pulled me down setting me on his lap, and forcefully pressed his lips to mine. I put my hands on his chest as a barrier but he gripped them and wrapped them around his neck. My breath hitched when he caressed my shoulder blade with the tips of his fingers.
He pulled away right when I was getting into it…
“Then I guess you’re just going to have to cheat on your boyfriend from now on,” he huskily whispered down my ear. I shivered a bit, before biting my bottom lip.
He smiled cheekily. “It’s nice to know that I don’t have to tell you to not bite your lip that way.” He dipped his head down crashing his lips down to mine.
Seconds later my phone buzzed. I ignored it noticing that it wasn’t a phone call but a text message.
“It’s getting late, Cody.” I murmured lowly.
“Your point is?” He placed a gentle kiss on my shoulder, slowly trailing up to my neck until he met my mouth.
I chuckled. “My point is that I don’t want my Mom questioning about my disappearance every night for the past week.” I responded. He sighed and ran his hand through his blonde waves.
