Not Just Fucking (a Shane Mccutcheon Love Story)

Socializing is scary

I made it there just a bit early but to my surprise everyone seemed to be already there. I was then greeted by Shane.
"Hey, tonight's a lot less clubby then the other night. Here sit, um so this is Alice, bette, Tina, Jenny, Max and Helena." she says.
"Hey, I'm Jasper" I shake everyone's hand and then sit down next to Shane.
"Drinks?" a woman comes up to our table. "Oh this is my sister,kit. She runs The Planet" Bette says. "Hey. I'm Jasper" I say. I'll admit I feel kind of shy meeting people at first. "Well hey Jasper! I welcome you to my place. And if you're friends with any of these ladies over here you get a small discount. May I call you Jas?" she says.
"Of course" I smile.
"You know Jasper, it's rare for Shane to show a liking to someone this early. She usually fucks them and then forgets." Jenny sips her wine.
"Jenny!" Max says. Gesturing that she was being rude.
Shane sits in silence for a but but then turns to Bette.
"Bette, did you know Jasper is painter?" Shane says.
"Oh really? What kind of stuff do you paint?" Bette seems delighted at the topic.
"It depends on my mood. Most of it is women depicted in different ways. I use mostly watercolor, however acrylic is fun sometimes too." I reply. I've never had anyone to talk about my painting with before.
"How long have you been painting Jasper?" Bette asks.
" since I was eleven, so around 13 maybe 14 years?" I said.
"I'm a Dean at an art school, before that I was head of the C.A.C. Art is something I'm very passionate about"
Bette explains.
"Me too. Even since I was little" I reply.
"I've dabbled in writing before too, however my stories And poems were never really any good." I say.
"Jenny is a writer actually" Shane says.
"Yeah I have a few projects at hand right now" she says to me. "What do you write?" she asks.
"Poetry usually. I also write a couple short stories here and there. Nothing too fancy.." I explain to Jenny.
"Oh that sounds cute!! You'll have to let me read a few!" she exclaims.
"Of course" I say.
"So are you into computers? Games?" Max asks me.
"Yes actually, I love video games" I respond.
"Oh really? Who's your favorite developer?" he asks.
"I think if I had to choose it would be Bethesda or DontNod" I said. I feel like such a geek.
"Cool!" he says.
I turn to Alice. "So I heard your broadcast this morning on the radio. "The Chart". I just joined last night."
"Oh really? Well welcome! We are very pleased to have a new constellation" she smiles.
"So Jasper, what brought you here to L.A.?" Tina asks.
"I have a couple sponsers here who want to make my website into a shop. I wanted it to be here wicne it's been a dream of mine since I was a little tween" I say.
Helena joins in. "Well I could help with funding. I can set up a meeting with my mom. Here my number if you're ever interested" she hands me a piece of paper.
"Thank you" I smile.
Just then we were interrupted by an announcement.
"Hey everyone!! Time for tonight's entertainment, a band from Ohio and Michigan, Citizen! For indie rock night." Kit says. I can't fucking believe it.
"Shit I love this band! Shane stands up.
"Me too!" I smile.
"Really? Well come on lets trash!" she grabs my hand and leads me near the shage, not too close but close enough.
We dance as hipsters do to a fucking amazing rock band like Citizen and we trash"
"Shake that white ass!" Shane jokingly says.
We dance together and it's so fucking fun.

*Everyone Else's P.O.V.*

Bette: " I really like her. I think she's perfect for Shane..especially if they end up long term."
Tina: "yeah I agree. She's sweet"
Alice: "I think She's pretty nice. Although it's odd that Shane is interested in her after just one fuck"
Jenny: " I like her, I'm exited to read some of her stuff"
