Gomez Integrated Math And Science High School

Psyche already finished arranging the books in alphabetical order, while she waited for the last ten minutes of her shift as an assistant librarian in their school. This job helped her buy books and other miscellaneous fees that her scholarship didn't cover. While she waited for her shift to end, some students congratulated her for taking home the crown as 'Queen Of The Night' on their JS Prom. She waved at the students, shyly smiled at them, her cheeks reddening on the consistent praises that she received because she didn't expect it. As a fourteen year old teenager, Psyche was an all natural timid type, embarrassed of every compliments that she was getting, mainly because she was not used to it. Her best friend Joei had been insistent in telling her that she owns a pretty face, shapely waist and chest for her age. She refused to believe her. Joei has always something good to tell her. What are friends are for, by the way? She'll just laugh at it and change the topic. And so, her best friend knew her more than anyone else. Joei was even resourceful enough to borrow her a plum gown for her JS Prom from a relative who sew stage costumes. Her shoes came from the relative as well. She didn't have the money to pay for the rent. But Joei assured her that it wouldn't cause her any single penny. Her simple makeup was done by neighbor who worked in local beauty parlor.

Psyche's smile widened when she realized that it was time to go home. She was about to grab her school bag, when a student approached her table. Drake. He was smiling handsomely at her. She politely smiled back.

" Hi Psyche! What's your next class? "

He said, his hair nicely parted in the middle. The usual look of a campus heartthrob. Drake's a Fil-Am. His cleft chin, green eyes and pointed nose loudly screamed it. In Psyche's opinion, the guy was a nice person. She can't just ignore him whenever he chats with her if he has a chance. However, some of her classmates warned her about Drake being in a relationship with Ellery Gomez. The Sorority Queen. Atty. Elliseo's only daughter, owner of the school. Psyche got that. She was not blind at how Ellery looks at her way, as if she had hated her for a very long time. And she wondered why. She chose to ignore it. Psyche was not the type who gets herself involved with issues. Besides, sometimes, she thinks Ellery is nice? One time, she even invited her to shop with her for their Prom gown. Psyche thought that it was sweet of Ellery, given that they were not really that close. She placed her bag down again and spoke.
